Sneaky Oliver 22,221
Why is everyone so scared about releasing a first single? haha it reminds of Katycats denying BA was the second official single
MaybeKermit 4,977
C'mon guys it's not THAT bad, lol. Though I wouldn't want to hear it again.. The beat is just too try-hard... you can really hear that they were trying to make an 'iconic' beat, like Crazy In Love or that one JLo song
JanPianoMusic 730
I gave up after a minute, it was giving me a headache. It's unfortunate that her career is going down this path because she truly is a talented singer. I must admit that Michelle Visage's revelations about her backstage antics changed my opinion of her. ICYMI, when a number of queens from RuPaul's Drag Race performed in Australia, Jessie J asked if she could perform at their show. Michelle exposed Jessie on her podcast with RuPaul saying that she did not interact at all with any of the queens or Michelle, she didn't want to participate in the show other than singing "Bang Bang". She was just there for the positive publicity it would give her while she was involved in a public spat with an Australian celebrity. You will never please everyone. StrawberryBlond 14,900
Damn, the song's only been out for a day and already it's at #74 with a bright red update on UK itunes and the UK's her biggest market. She's done, she's totally done. Just goes to show that no one really considers Bang Bang to be her song even though she's the first name mentioned, it's on her album and Nicki and Ariana are features. It doesn't matter how she was credited because it truly was their star power selling it, not her. She didn't even play a part in writing it, probably because she's proved recently that she hasn't got it in her to write a hit anymore. I sometimes wondered what on earth happened to make Jessie J so unpopular overnight from her debut to her sophomore album. Yeah, I wasn't keen on her debut but did that many people find it that bad that they didn't want anything to do with her afterwards? The song isn't even that bad although the background beat doesn't sync very well and overpowers the song a bit. I like the little bridge bit towards the end, though. Its better than some of the stuff she's put out lately but still nothing amazing. I'm not surprised that she's not officially putting the 'lead single' label on it, though. She's too worried it will flop, which it inevitably will and therefore, she'll look foolish by calling it a lead. 2 hours ago, Sneaky Oliver said: Why is everyone so scared about releasing a first single? haha it reminds of Katycats denying BA was the second official single It really is getting tiring. I wish more artists would just put their new material out there with some conviction. Then the fans might actually know whether to buy it or not. I'm getting the feeling that's why so many new singles put out there just aren't sticking because the artist hasn't made it clear what their purpose are. The fans maybe aren't that keen on it but are eager to support their fave's lead single regardless...but then again, if it's perhaps just a promo single, maybe they won't bother. After all, promo singles are more for the public to download than anyone else as fans will have them on the album they're going to buy soon anyway. More and more artists are so afraid of flopping now that they won't put a label on their new material, they'll just wait and see how it performs to see whether they can officially upgrade it to a lead single if it gets success or downgrade it to a promo/buzz single if it flops. It's so transparent and the fans are getting sick of it. I miss the days when artists put out a new song and that equalled lead single in everyone's minds.
