approximately 1.7m per show

if it continues like that, she'll be around 104m

if she isn't dropping lg6 early next year, the tour should continue

I don't get why shows are marked as sold out when they're not completely sold out (guess this doesn't happen to Gaga only though).

Usually the first batch of tickets is used to call something as sold out, and then the promoters just calls the total number of tix sold as the maximum they released. That's why even half empty arenas are marked as 100% sold. Live Nation is especially well known for this.

These numbers are awesome, even better than I could've hoped for! Those Tacoma Dome figures are outstanding, she's never played to an audience that big there. That's why she went to the KeyArena last tour because she just couldn't sell out the dome but not this time. For the first 5 shows to pull in over 77k attendance and $8.7 million is truly an incredible feat, especially for a singer who's struggled to have hits of late. Even though it is just American dates, where she has better album sales, a #4 single and the SB promo, that is still incredible. Gaga's a 31-year-old female artist who's been in the game for just under a decade whose top ten hits are growing thin on the ground now, so these figures cannot be underestimated. Most women in her position just can't achieve this. This is all proof that Gaga is going to be around forever. So much for all the haters who said that she was over after BTW.

You just have to sell the bare minimum to be considered a sell out. Whatever that number is differs from venue to venue, depending on size, obviously, which is why the precise numbers to sell out differ. I think the overall budget for the tour is factored in as well to work it out. Basically, if you've got a multimillion dollar tour with all the bells and whistles and you're performing at a 50k stadium, then, yeah, you'll need to sell out almost all of those tickets. But if you're a very basic produced tour and you're performing at a tiny 10k capacity arena, you might need to sell little over 5-6k tickets to be considered sold out.

What do you mean by not completely sold out?

If by a few blue tickets left then yeah there were those because they added seats behind the stage as well as turned a few platinum tickets into regular tickets.

But there were so few left like a couple hundred out of 15k is nothing. 1% of the arena unsoldis still good enough to call it sold out.

Now if you mean not sold out in the sense that you believed those Wikipedia'd numbers like Rogers Place can hold 21k then no. Those capacities thrown around are plain wrong.

This is true. But in Gaga's case the first 5 dates only had a couple hundred tickets left before the show. So more like 1% empty in Gaga's case.

The moral of the story is she should come to Asia.

Last she came, she did 4 shows in Hong Kong, one of the smallest cities in the world that doesn't care about English pop music THAT much, all sold out and grossed $7.89 million :trollga:

Still waiting for her to announce Asia dates :grr:

I think part of the reason Gaga isn't going to asia and Aus is that even if she sells them out (which she can in Asia and can do in Aus now that The Cure was a hit there) is that this is her most complex stage yet. It's expensive to move around from country to country. They can drive around the US and drive around continental Europe in those trucks but getting to Asia and Aus will require costly flights for 27 trucks worth of staging and lights.
