"More and more singers are cancelling big shows and turning to surgery to fix their damaged vocal cords. But is the problem actually down to the way they sing?"

So Adele damaged her voice again. Is she due for another surgery? Will she tour again?

At this rate, she'll end up like Mariah except that she's only been in the business for less than a decade. Mariah, however, never went through vocal surgery  and adapted her singing style to her deteriorating voice.

I wished Adele would go back to the singing style of her first album. She doesn't need the belt her songs!

I am in awe of how Gaga protects her vocal chord though. She screams so often.

I mean the Bloody Mary, SCHEISSEEE!!! screams seem difficult to make.

Technique and proper care is everything, kids :selena:

Yes touring equals money and all but Adele needs to take it easy.

Adele, sis, everyone warned you. :madge:

Hope she gets better. She doesn't deserve this.

Also - big reason why Perfect Illusion is very rarely performed. Going that hard for an entire song can do serious damage.

How about the acoustic version

Gaga pushes herself to the limit but i do feel that she also knows when to stop - especially after the broken hip incident

I actually think some fans are exaggerating the Perfect Illusion difficulty. She is Lady Gaga, she can sing Perfect Illusion just fine. She did the Sound of Music tribute, she can do Perfect Illusion properly.

She did The Sound Of Music for one night for a television appearance. She's doing The Joanne World Tour five times a week, and that can really strain the vocals if she performs a song out of her natural range.

PI is straight up belting and screaming through. It's hard and fast. The kind of delivery it requires is much more exhausting The Sound of Music tribute. It's not a very melodic song in terms of vocals. It's not that she's incapable of doing it - it's that doing it too much would damaging to her vocal chords due to the intensity and gruffness it takes.

She had two and a half months to prepare for that one performance and train her voice. And she wasnt aggitated when singing it + there is not as much belting in that tribute as in PL....there a reason she cutsiy and its exactly this.

Tbh I'm getting sick of this story. You'd think that if this was your career and your future depended on it, especially if you're a talented artist who wants to keep making their art, you'd invest some time and money (out of your millions) into regularly checking in with a vocal coach. It's almost unacceptable in my opinion. It's their one job, and so many singers either can't f.ucking sing, or ruin their voices doing it.

I'm so glad the girl I stan for respects her own talent, health, and potential and looks after herself. She's also dedicated to being great at what she does rather than skimming by. Yes she screams and growls sometimes, but those are small sacrifices to express her passion through her art, not regular abuse of her biological-instrument.

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
