Ferrer Zorola 3,966
I just read the original novel's plot and it's very different. So 90's, idk lol. It's a bit dumb how the killer admit who he is before making sure he kills his victims LIFE IS GOOD

Lois Duncan, the writer, hates the movie and said they turned her great book into a pointless slasher movie. I'm sorry, but I read the book, and that **** was boring AF. I don't even remember If my memory serves me correctly, in the book, they hit a kid on his bike and do in fact kill him. It's the kids older brother that returns to exact revenge. For the film, there were many misdirects to keep the audience guessing. For the first half, they think they ran over and killed a man named David Egan (as his body was found in the ocean about a week or so after the hit and run), and are convinved it is someone who knew him exacting revenge. Then, they later believe that they in fact didn't kill David after all, and it is he who is after them. They don't find out till the very end, that the killer is a man named Ben Willis. Ben Willis's daughter, Missy, was killed in a car accident with her fiance DAVID EGAN one year prior to the beginning of the film. Ben Willis kills David out of revenge, and then as he is leaving the scene of the crime, the group hits BEN with their car.

Ooooooh I was so confused but I get it now... and who's the killer in the second movie? LIFE IS GOOD

Also Ben Willis. The second movie had a great storyline, but was bogged down by some unnecessary side storylines. In the second one, Julie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) is still at college, and she and her roommate win a trip to the Bahamas for the 4th of July weekend. They get up there, not realizing that it is storm season and the resort is basically empty save for like 4 or 5 workers. You later find out that one of Julie's friends that came along is actually Ben's son, who helped his father trick them into the resort to kill them. The whole concept of them being at the resort during storm season was awesome, but the subplot of one of her friends being Ben's son was unneeded and added nothing at all to the story.
