Why does it matter if it was a hit or not?

Why do so many people in this fandom care about hits? It doesn't take away if the song was good or not? For example, the ARTPOP era. It seems like a lot of you guys hate that era just because it didn't do well for the GP. If you love the songs and Gaga loves them enough to release them. Why hate? I'm sad that ARTPOP didn't get the appreciation it deserves.  I feel like it was the most personal ART side of Gaga and people let her down by not supporting it.  ARTPOP will always be in my heart. gif_lady_gaga_artpop_film_by_henrycoco951078992_1000_.jpgmaxresdefault.jpg

You have to remember that Gaga is a pop star. Her entire career depends on whether she has hits or not, and we want for her to remain relevant in public eye. We would take artistic integrity over the charts any day, but hits are what make artists important. :tony:

However, we also want Gaga to have more recognition, plus the fact we haven't had a big hit since Applause is also pretty impacting on us :emma: Yes, music not the bling is pretty important, but the bling is like the cherry on top :gaycat: we have nothing to worry about since the music is good, so why not focus more on the cherry on top? :lana:

Of course, that's my opinion

Because we dont want her worldwide hits to span from 2008 to 2013  We want a decent catalog of hits, not just 5 years.

People started to care about charts when the music industry entered a phase of crisis due to less albums being bought. Labels started to pressure their artists to sell more than the others. And that included fanbases as a way to manipulate and generate competition between artists.

Gaga had to experience this just after her peak (2009-2011), so that's why some fans saw ARTPOP as a major failure. But it was all the media's fault. There were some issues with Gaga's management too, but in general the album and the singles did pretty well.

If you’re gonna count Applause as a hit count MR as one too. I hear it in public like every week at work or in other places.

Compare the overall chart positions of both Applause and MR, then we can talk

The only reason I want her songs that I like to be hits is to have more chance to see her perform them live someday. For example, I'll probably never see Perfect Illusion live, and that makes me sad.

I see what your saying but we r fans who are here to enjoy the music. Manegement is supposed to take care of that **** behind the scenes. And I already know people don't like her maegement but they've done much more and have more planned then we think. Even if there was bad manegement there is nothing we can do to change it, so I just sit back and enjoy the ride :)
