That song was always so confusing cause I never understood what the lyrics meant, well low and behold, for three years I was wrong

Despite my dislike for the album its birthed from, I find Applause to be a true gem. Catchy lyrics, great beat to dance to, and I was quite happy a bit when I saw it on the set. I definitely feel its underrated.

Underrated by the GP,  but probably receives the right amount of praise within the fantasy. It is such a bop. When she sang it on the Joanne tour with all those dancers acting like theatrical mimes, it brought back so many good memories of the ARTPOP era (before it went to sh!t). 

The Applause video is also my ultimate fave.  I low-key think she stole the SwanGa idea from a post I put on littlemonsters.com.  I'm not delusional I swear.

Tbh when Roar and Applause came out, I was getting my jush to Roar. Like non-stop. It had like over 70 plays while Applause sat at 4 plays. I was not a fan.

I don't know what changed but suddenly the koons was me and I LOVE Applause. The next year after its release, the DJ at this wedding I was at played it and boy it made that night so much better.

During a speech at New York Pride in 2013, she made reference to turning into a swan. At the time, there was a lot of talk about 'rising from the ashes' so as a joke I posted a picture of her TrollGa face () on an image of a swan... exactly like the SwanGa in the video. Then about two months later she releases Applause. 

I know it's a reach but it was weird as f*ck and I was convinced she had seen it. Even if she hadn't, it's confirmed to me that we basically share the same brain either way.
