As much as I hope she wins, I doubt they will knock off Hairspray LIVE...

However! she could be nominated for best original song next year with ASIB :gaysia:

It will probably go to Hairspray or the Academy Awards.

Y'all really think Hairspray Live will win? :oprah: It was only ok and has nothing on the 2007 movie and the special only got positive reviews while the SBHS was acclaimed.

I'm sure the other live musical specials have been better.

The other specials were better, but I don't think they will care. A live musical event is always something impressive, no matter the result.

I mean, Grease Live! (it was amazing tho) beat LEMONADE.

She HAS to WIN . THEY CANT SNUB HER LIKE THAT. OMG! This and then Oscars 2019 for music in ASIB. Then after her first baby she can start on a Broadway play, get a Tony and she will be an EGOT like she deserves :whitney:

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the standing in the Special Class Program before the final round voting begins on August 14th, is as follows:

Projected Standings

1. The Oscars (ABC)

2. Super Bowl LI Halftime Show Starring Lady Gaga (Fox)

3. Hairspray Live! (NBC)

4. 70th Annual Tony Awards (CBS)

When you look at the Golden Derby projections, it's all over with Tony Awards and Hairspray leading so far. I think, it's good that there's no consensus. It's an open field for now.

After that flop at the end I think there's NO chance the Oscars will win. I think it's also a way for the TV Academy to be petty to the Motion Picture Academy
