The Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect, a New York City–based nonprofit founded by Anne's father in 1959, shared an image on Twitter of a bulleted list laying out what appeared to be similarities between Trump and Nazi leader Adolf Hitler. Among them were "the president creates his own media," "he endorses police brutality," and "he demonizes people who believe, look or love differently."

"Alarming parallels of history escalate," the center wrote.

"By the same token, it is responsible, and indeed our moral imperative, to point out parallels between actions taken by the Trump administration today and the actions taken by Germany in the 1930s before the Holocaust," Goldstein says. "1930s Germany imposed a series of escalating steps of oppression, including demonization, discrimination and isolation of vulnerable communities, that evoke what we are seeing today. That comparison is just, and not to make the comparison would be a dereliction of our duty to ensure 'never again' to any people."

Trump has been likened to Hitler before. Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto said in 2016 that Trump's "strident rhetoric" was similar to Hitler's, and North Korean state media has called Trump's "America first" foreign policy "Nazism in the 21st century." And, most recently, several critics posted on Twitter that Trump's late July speech to Boy Scouts about loyalty reminded them of the Hitler Youth, a branch of the Nazi Party.

Eva Schloss, 86, is an Auschwitz survivor and the stepsister of Anne Frank. Both Frank and Schloss were Jewish refugees in Amsterdam together and the pair played together as children until their families were forced into hiding in 1942. After the war, Otto Frank (Anne’s father) married Fritzi (Eva’s mother). Eva Schloss is the co-founder of the Anne Frank Trust UK and the author of several books about her experiences during the Holocaust.  "I think he is acting like another Hitler by inciting racism. During his U.S. presidential campaign he has suggested the “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States," as well as pledging to build a wall between the U.S. and Mexico to keep illegal immigrants out."

 

 

There is a difference in equating him with Hitler and saying he is acting like him in a lot of ways...that there are direct parallels...that given more freedom and less checks and balances and media scrutiny, he could do the same to groups of people that he clearly hates. (And he will find ways to do so on a smaller scale and less catastrophic way) 

The parallels are there. Now that you are back, you are going to see Trump called this. You can object every time, but we aren't saying something that hasn't been said by those who studied and lived the history you are referring to.

Well then you should have clarified it

I quoted Newsweek. I used Newsweek to back up my point. They pointed out the many people and groups of people that have made the comparison.
