First of all, the line separating hate speech is blurred... Some people will consider pointing out facts that paint a select group of people in a negative way to be hate-speech... In fact, I'm sure some people would consider me posting that clip hate-speech If you're outlawing hate speech, I think abuse of that law will shortly follow... Secondly, it could potentially skew data... Think about it, if you're opposing nazism, wouldn't you want to know how far reaching their rhetoric is... Banning it doesn't automatically change the mind of an actual nazi, it just silences them and drives them underground so you can't properly gage how wide-spread that frame of mind is and what your next action should be... As unpleasant as it may seem, I think all types of speech should be allowed, and transparency should be encouraged... Rather than police speech, people should educate themselves and train themselves and others in debate because you shouldn't be afraid to engage in debate with your opposition... And you should come fully equipped... As if it would be so difficult to explain why being a nazi is a bad thing It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke! They are not free to support it, hence why its illegal in germany because it goes against human rights which modern Germany stand for. That's the whole point of free speech actually... You're not going to change someone's mind by silencing them, you are just going to exacerbate the problem... Honestly, I think people who say free speech shouldn't be allowed are just scared that their opposition will come better equipped with their arguments than them...
