I think she is trying to be more artistic. She was more of an entertainer before and it probably bothered her that she wasn't taken seriously. But I don't think she embodies the true spirit of an artist or knows how to be one.

She constantly shaded Gaga, meanwhile Gaga never said anything bad about her.And she also releases singles right after Gaga's.Isnt that kind of suspicious.

This is completely not true tho.

In fact, Katy is a bigger Gaga fan that 50% of this forum.

I agree with most reasons, but she can bounce back next era. She tried to stop being generic, and it doesn't work. If she comes back with long hair, nice bops trendy with meaning (like CTTR), a good aesthetic and a good marketing strategy, she'll get hits again. She didn't damage her brand so badly imo.

I am so tired of you guys saying she's flopping, the Witness sales weren't bad at all, her livestream was ICONIC and Swish Swish has been a hit so far :neyde:

You guys just want her to flop so bad that you convinced yourself that she is flopping basically

Witness is doing 2016 Britney Spears / 2011 Christina Aguilera numbers with a tour bundle Nobody except for gay fans know her last single or second single. Chained To The Rhythm fell of the charts as a body falling from a skyscraper. Her tour dates are getting called, critics panned her off, etc.

When the era first started I was expecting KPerry to gather a cute #2 single (I Knew You Were Trouble-sized) and a couple more top 20s. But she didn't and that's tragic. She hasn't even changed her sound, only her image. That says much of how superficial her pop-persona is.

Anyway, I wish you the best Katy, hard times are coming for you and unless you are reborn (thing I doubt because you lack the talent for it), you're out.

You'll end up just like Christina Aguilera - a card for 30 seconds features with male succesful rappers who want some kind of melodic chorus for the teens -. That it's until you grow five years older, where your main money source will be some kind of talent program like The Voice and Doritos ads

Only thing I have to say about this (while I think you made some valid points) is that if you think eating watermelon is cultural appropriation then I may as well be a proud member of the KKK. :poot:

It was the combination of cornrows and watermelon that seemed shady to be together.

I don't even like Taylor Swift but I'd be an idiot to think Ms. Perry won that fight

Katy needs to stop taking credit when the true winner of that fight was Kim

Tbh if I play swish swish whilst looking at long dark haired Katy, I like the song a little more :toofunny: I just have this reaally bad stigma around her haircut and I don't know why

Really ?

I'm genuinely asking, not being shady.

Well it's #1 in the U.K. right now, and rightfully so, it's a bop, especially in clubs :lolly: not solely because of Katy though, the beat is what I think people are into. If the female in the song was anyone else, it would sell the same imo

Yes this, I have not seen any shade towards Gaga this era, she's been constantly supporting her, liking her tweets, wishing her luck, complimenting her, I swear some people make up stuff to make katy look bad :excuseu:

Bad songs, bad haircut, bad attitude. IT was not a good era for her. Madonna always changed her style but to me it never felt forced. Everything Katy does feels forced, well at least this time around.
