I don't get why they called the JWT show a flop? BEcause there weren't many people on the GA? but... it was sold out right? Wasn't there a problem or sth and a lot of people arrived later?

Probably, because a lot of her dates aren't selling well. If they canceled the NC date because of sales, then more cancelations will come. Hoping not my date.

I couldn't figure this one out, but I'm sure it's uncomplimentary to Katy.  It would be nice if people remember that Gaga wishes other artists the best and doesn't tear them down.  If Katy were in trouble, Gaga would be the first to be sad about it.  If we were unconditionally kind, like Gaga, the world would be a better place.

That's the weakest excuse I've ever heard. If it was a "long standing" family commitment, that date would be burned onto your mind, right? Even if I can't remember the exact date for something I have planned, the month it takes place is always at the forefront, so I'm always like: "I'll check my diary to clarify what date that thing falls." This only makes the real reason of cancelling due to low sales all the more evident because the excuse makes no sense. Simply saying "scheduling conflict" would be enough as we've heard that one many times. We all know the real reason but at least it's an excuse we know well.

Now, it's going to be intriguing to see how many more dates follow. If a date has been cancelled before the show's even begun, it's not looking good. That shows that the promoter had absolutely no faith in it, that it wasn't even worth hanging around to see if tickets took a last minute surge. So, what are the bets for the dates to be cancelled next? I think one of the California dates has got to be numbered. She's doing 5 dates there, 3 of them in LA, which I thought was a bit excessive, all things considered. The ones in lower-populated areas in the west, like Des Moines and Salt Lake City might get ditched as well. I have no idea why she's doing 2 different cities in Michigan, that's a big risk. Southerners have kinda gone off her recently, so 3 dates in Texas are a big ask. Arkansas was a mammoth risk, so few people bother touring there now unless they're a country star. Then there's Europe. She'll have to drop that second Amsterdam date, she's already got dates in the countries surrounding it, so she won't stand a chance of selling out in an area where the album only peaked at #8. Sheffield and Liverpool were too big a risk to take as they're all so close to Manchester that most artists now don't bother going there at all and just keep adding dates to Manchester if need be. By all accounts, the album's sold less than 40k here so far, she'll never have enough demand for a UK leg that's commanding over 140k tickets. And as for Australia...she's added second dates to all of them recently which might be a massive error in judgement. Her album sold just over 5k there on the first week and she's already given out 8k tickets in a promotion. Likely the second one in Adelaide might be unneccesary and the third ones in Melbourne and Sydney might be dropped. Just as well she didn't bother with NZ or this would be an even bigger embarrassment.

I'm wondering now if there were plans to do dates in Asia and Latin America but they got halted when her work was received so badly in these regions? I mean, she did a BTW-level Asia and Latin American leg last time. I understand doing less dates there next time but to completely pay them both dust? Maybe they were planned post-Australia but had to be cut short? Kinda like how Madonna announced plans to go to Australia with the MDNA tour but it ended up not happening?

I'd hate to see Katy suffer, but I can't say the same about the KatyCats  

It seems many of, if not all, her dates are selling really badly.  Won't be surprised if she cancels the tour in its entirety or downsizes to smaller venues. Otherwise she's going to be playing for half-empty arenas.  Her fan base simply cannot call Gaga a flop anymore without looking at the woman they stan.
