I get it, Beyoncé killed that dance break, but so can Gaga, one example would be Judas. It's obviously much easier to just dance than dance and sing, and in that segment Bey is only dancing. She used A LOT of pre-recorded vocals and her dancing was not that good. Backing vocals =/= prerecorded vocals. It's not me "dragging" her talent, she's obviously a very talented individual, but I think where most of this 'hate' comes from is the fact that she's overhyped to death. I mean, she'll sneeze and people will praise her beyond belief for it. People always refer to her as a "Queen" and you're like "not cool" if you don't like Beyonce, but I'm sure half of those people who say that don't even really listen to her music. That said, there are definitely people like that in any sort of fan base, but I see it with Beyonce more than any other singer. Saying Beyoncé is the greatest performer of this generation is completely subjective and a little laughable because imo she can't play an instrument. Beyonces dancing didn't require as much movement as Gagas especially on the dance break. This is mostly subjective, but Beyonce is more talented in certain ways... objectively Ofc, perspective is important, so take the following as is... This will be controversial for some reason, but any vocal professional can tell you that Beyonce is the most if not one of the most technically gifted singers in recent pop history and she is a "better" singer that has managed to take care of her voice since the beginning of her career. She's up there with Mariah, Aretha, Whitney, etc. in terms of sheer technique and musicality (though I think those 3 eclipse her in terms of emotional impact) and while Gaga is VERY good... Beyonce is better. OFC, THAT DOESNT HAVE TO MATTER I personally prefer Gaga's timbre sometimes and think shes a much more emotional singer... but Beyonce's range, consistency, dynamic range, intonation, breath support, healthy execution, improvisation, and flexibility of style are all like... >> to Gaga's Also while she sings live almost all of the time, she has pre-recorded or backing vocals and takes breaks to allow her voice to rest, which is why her voice is just about as healthy (though certainly matured) as it was 10 years ago. Its something more artists should do.
