Theory: One second I'm Joanne, then suddenly I'm Born This Way

Let me try to explain Joanne - the entire concept.

 

The Beginnings and Inspiration

Skeptics, she did not just make up the Joanne concept about a person she'd probably never met as a cool album idea.

Check out this interview with an Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan from 2011/2012, the Born This Way - Marry The Night era. She talks about being reborn but takes an Indian twist on it. She initially begins talking about how you can be reborn many times throughout your life (an idea she proclaimed throughout the BTW era). Here's a paraphrasing of the following exchange (I don't feel like watching it again just for quotes )

SRK: Do you believe that you can have multiple lives?

Gaga: Yes, I do. In fact, when I talk about this stuff in America, people look at me like, "Is she crazy?" but I believe in it.

SRK: That's totally normal here. Do you think you can remember something from your past lives?

Gaga: Actually yes, I was my dad's sister who died at 19. I have always felt like she and I have a deep connection. When I was growing up, everyone used to tell me, "Oh you look so much like your aunt." I feel like I have her spirit in me.

In fact, my middle name is Joanne which is her birth name and her middle name was Stefani which is my birth name. 

 

The Joanne Era

And now, check out this interview with Elvis soon after Perfect Illusion was released. (My avi feel familiar?) 

She says something on the lines of "I closed my eyes and I saw this girl. I kept telling Mark that I saw this girl in the back of my concert in jeans and inexpensive (very Joanne era like) clothes and she was crying. She was the girl I wrote this album for. And then I realized that this girl was me."

 

This girl, friends, was obviously Joanne. And she saw an image of Joanne in the back of her concert crying. In whom, she saw herself.

 

Gaga is Joanne.

More accurately, the Lady in Gaga is Joanne.

SRK interview at some point: My friends used to call me GaGa because I was so theatrical and I added the Lady because it was kinda ironic. I can sometimes be very ladylike and sometimes not. (to those people saying Gaga changed and that Joanne era is her turning her back on everything she's been before.)

I think now she describes it better. She said that she feels the the need and responsibility to live joanne's life because she also was a poet.

I'm not saying I believe in reincarnation but how can you know that you can't reincarnate in your niece?
