I think a large part might actually be from selling drugs and illegal activities. They're known for making undetectable fake dollars. The goal is to be able to put the US in danger with nuclear armaggedon, which means that the US will be too scared to ever intervene in North Korea. Basically, it's securing the regime from external factors till it falls due to internal factors. It's the only way they can be secure and give them leverage. androiduser 7,438 Posted July 28, 2017 Share Posted July 28, 2017 I doubt that North Korea is a big threat, their missiles would be taken down before they reach the target... if it flies over Japan, the Japanese military would take care of it, if it goes elsewhere, another country would intervene.
