Also note that this current story is just for one part of the country. Places like the 7th Circuit (IL, IN, WI) have ruled that Title VII does apply to sexual orientation. So there are pockets of the USA that protect against this but not all parts

This old law from 1964 doesn't provide additional protection for gay employees in a case surrounding discrimination. Meaning that this isn't a matter of gays having less rights than straights but simply means that it doesn't give them more advantage if it surrounds their sexuality. The fact that this is now a case taken to congress before the court's decision is good because therefor it can be acknowledged and changed. This has nothing to do with Trump. Just a detail in an old law that is changeable. 

Liberals are reaching to find any additional information to the transgender policy so they can blame trump for it once again

All this means as that a gay individual cant use it as an excuse if they get fired from a job and prevents them from suing if they don't get the job.  Employers aren't obligated to hire you just because you are gay.  (I work in cooperate America and employers don't care at all - they want someone who can come in and get the job done.)

I have been turned down from many jobs over the years and never blame my sexuality for it.  If we truly want to be equal...this is the right move.

I don't know if you're trolling, or you genuinely believe the things you say, but this isn't about you clearly. This is about direct proveable discrimination of a person for any reason. Maybe you live in an area where this doesn't happen to you, or where this is so rare as to not be believable, but in southern states, in strictly Christian areas, in much of the Midwest and central US, this is a very real fear.

Just because you don't need it, doesn't mean everyone else doesn't. Try to be more compassionate of other people's struggles, one day they could be your own of affect you directly, even if they don't, humanity is a community and gay people deserve their own part of it.

Who cares if it's an old law? It is a law that protects people from being fired for reasons that involve discrimination. The LGBT community isn't asking for "additional" protection, they are asking for the same protection as everyone else. 

No, this is not "good". In the latest and most significant anti-LGBT action yet from the Trump administration, the Justice Department last filed a brief with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit arguing that federal civil rights laws do not protect individuals from discrimination based on their sexual orientation or gender identity.

This has nothing to do with the crazy transgender policy Trump pulled out of his Orange ass yesterday.
