shmal96 2,928
Anything by Imagine Dragons b/c that was my ex's favorite band 'Hair' used to be for a while b/c I kind of head a meltdown in my car balling my eyes out because of my then-bf, and Hair was on my playlist and I was like '**** nooooo, this song can't get bad vibes I love it too much'. I can jam to it now no problem.

I was seeing someone at the end of spring/beginning of summer and Malibu was my jam, I was listening to it before and after going to work everyday, I'd listen to it before and after I did something with that guy and it filled me with so much hope and joy. It lasted for two months which is the longest "relationship" I've had () and now I just can't listen to it anymore, it reminds me of thet mindset I was in and the feelings I felt too much. So relatable, my first and only lasted for a month I love Malibu and anyone who drags it is gone but in your situation I totally understand, its heartbreaking. You'll find another, everyone does

calmar 22,062
There are two kinds of examples, I guess - bad memories that make me just sort of sit there and stir in my own agony due to being obsessed with the song at one point and connecting it deeply to the source of the bad memory, and bad memories in that the song makes me think of a bad time, but the song itself helped to empower me through that time because it seemed to appear at the uncannily right moment. Example of the first kind for me: Example of the second kind for me: 俺の勝利は揺るぎない
Letmelivemylife 8,715
Definitely "family portrait" by Pink. It hits way too close to home. I love you monsters. I'd be unfixably broken without you
Duella Dvil 10,495
I had an ex who got me into Lana. Like we would get high and make love to it and get so ****ing wrapped up in the music and each other then just BAM. He leaves me for his ex. Any song by Lana comes on and I feel my legs wanting to run. I legitimately hate that this happened to me because everything was so good then suddenly it didn't exist. I was so bare. I was demolished tbh. We haven't spoken since and I haven't listened to Lana since. Not honeymoon, not Lust. www.instagram.com/theduella666

Im sorry that happened to you, if you don't mind me asking...why did he leave you for his ex? bc thats sounds pretty unfair if you ask me. If you haven't listened to L4L yet I really recommend it, even though you said Lana hits you hard for nostalgic purposes, maybe you'll create some new and possibly positive memories with this album...just wait for the right time in your life to listen

juju 18,907
got a whole list of "triggering" songs, IDK where to even start. Most don't have one specific instance that they're attributed to, more like an era of my life where I was down/acting crazy/in love/etc. ❤ x ❤
