Rather than weak, timid music, however beautiful, how about power ballads that shake the foundations of heaven and earth with the implied, logical power of the music.  Can still be beautiful music, and not too loud.

I live outside the space time continuum.

Why dont people want pure pop :gum:

For me, I'm just not a fan of current pop music, like at all. Going into my musical interest could be like writing a novel for me haha, so to keep it simple, I definitely prefer rock, alternative, classic rock, soft pop, classic pop, soul, etc... I was a stan of hers though the moment in 2008 when I heard her jazz up PF and play it on a piano. I knew she was the real deal.

Gaga's never really been pure pop. She's always brought a special something else to it. She's molded from the best classic rock and pop acts. She's a modern day glam rockstar. Even her SuperBowl show was a huge love letter to glam rock and metal. She really is at her best, IMO, when she's channeling the classic artist she is inspired by, making timeless music.

I just think her talent and sound would really lend itself well to making a soulful, jazz influence pop album that is full of ballads in the same vein as Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Norah Jones, Amy Winehouse, John Legend, etc...I think it would just really suit her. I think a lot of people want the pure pop for the success it may possibly hold, but reality is she'll never be as big as she once was, so why not experiment in different sounds and make music more in tune with her inspirations.

Phlop

Following ARTPOP I'd say yeah but her last two albums were jazz covers and country folk music.

If she did a Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey like album, I would just die. It would be so amazing. A soulful, Alicia Keys like album wouldn't be too far off honestly. I never really thought of it, but a soulful, jazzy album in the vein of Alicia Keys, John Legend, and Norah Jones would be so perfect for her. I would love to hear that side of her and like I always say, jazz suits her voice best.

That said I need a real rock album from her too. She sounds so good in rock and it's her at her core.

Honestly I'd be here for a rock album from her. I want it to be stadium/arena rock...so similare ish to U2's type of rock. I'm not a huge fan of heavy metal (although I like a few heavy metal songs) so that's what I'm hoping for in terms of rock music. But I'd rather she saved the rock album for her later years. Imagine an older Gaga busting out a guitar (hopefully she'll be better at the guitar at that point lol) and singing her heart out :p It'd be cool!

For now though I really want that Alicia Keys "Songs in A Minor" & "The Diary of Alicia Keys" type of songs from her. That genre with compliment her voice a lot. She'd also be exploring a new genre she hasn't tapped into. Not to mention the fact that she plays piano will really come in handy with this particular genre of music. It could also resonate with the GP commercially speaking right now since we are in an era of music that enjoys a more "urban" sound. A Neo RnB / soul hip hop sound could really work for her in this market and could still set her a side from the pack. She wouldn't be following a trend but she'd be dipping her toes into popular territory if that makes sense.

"Why do you do that" was definitely pop.i think she starts as a country singer but turns into a pop star.

Yes, cuz ballads is where Gaga excels at. Speechless, Princess Die, Dope, Fooled Me Again, You & I are all gorgeous.

And then she has pop ballads like Brooklyn Nights or even Paparazzi which are amazing songs as well.

Sometimes it feels like I've got a war in my mind, I wanna get off but I keep riding the ride

Yeah I remember all of this as well. I think it is "The Wave" that was said to be the 90's House/dance song. I remember the ballad that was performed when Sonja passed away and how that was a very emotional moment for the film and for Gaga. Neither of those songs had any leaks though.

Whaat, when she sings "The Wave"? :O

I remember The Ballad, Heal Me, Diggin My Grave + Another Country Song [At Coachella], How Do You That...But no this one !
