A totally random insertion in the form of the rap feature. Very uncomfortable imagery in parts, some of which is hard to watch if you're squeamish. Being controversial for sake of it/for views/for image revamp. I really didn't expect it to go to the places it did, it just started out being terribly boring but then it went nuts. I'm all for people having the freedom to do what they want in videos, but some of this was actually quite, as much as I hate the word, triggering. The bit where she clamps that eyelash curler round her tongue made me want to heave. I'm very squeamish when it comes to that kinda stuff and I still can't feel my tongue right after watching it. Then she's rolling around on the floor, exposing her underwear and crumpling her skirt in a way that suggests masturbation all while she looks underage. She can't help that she looks young, I know, but if you're going to do a video like that, forget the natural no-make up look and make yourself look like the grown woman you are because doing certain scenes while you look like you're in your early teens is going to weird your audience right out. And the bit where she was in the walk-in freezer has me stumped. I almost wondered if it was the suggestion that someone had killed her and was storing her there, but whatever it was, very strange. At the end of the day, Selena simply can't pull off edginess. It just makes her look disingenuine and even younger than she already looks. I said the Lana Del Rey inspiration was strong with this song and the whole first part of the video and the song itself suggests that's where she got the general ideas from.
