One could (wrongly) argue that Joanne was a flop too. Get a life. The album is a fan favorite and Gaga still made her millions. Nothing about it flopped. Keri Hilson...that's a flop. They just repeat what media wanted us to believe. And the media did well. A big part of Little Monsters they strongly believe it. ARTPOP just didn´t sell as much as her previous works. Back in the 80´s and 90´s flop meant almost "not charted in the top 40" Now Flop means it´s not Platinum,it´s not #1 etc. Applause for some LM was a Flop hahahahahahaha

C1trus 4,341
Messily managed album with 2million+ sales on par with other hit albums of 2013-14 isn't a flop. The real flop is Bangerz because Miley already got the hype from the GP + Decent management but it didn't sell as much as it should be. Even Floprism. Kety spawned 2 number 1's from that album and it didn't even reached the sales of Born This Way (considering that it also got backlash) ι'м ρυℓℓιηg үσυя sтяιηgs
PeterPan 0
1 hour ago, drinkmytears said: You edited my quote. The album was Number One because people were interested in the album. Applause was a smash hit on the radio because people wanted to listen to it. Applause and Do What U Want went platinum because people bought and streamed the songs. Dope went Top 10 because people saw it on YouTube and clicked/bought it. Yes, everything Gaga does is successful because she has created a name for herself and promotes her music/product. However, that doesn't matter. The album wasn't a flop. And its still good and people still like it, saying "that's just because its Gaga" is irrelevant. People are interested in Gaga... SHALLOW 16,459
The album itself didn't flop. The whole era did and i always wonder what ARTPOP could've been if things went differently. But to me it's still the Greatest concept for an album and it was really life-changing.

ARTPOP flopping made her a better artist. it doesnt really flopped by today's standard: 300k first week sales. 3 top 10 hits. it flops based on Gaga's standard and the bad time that she needs to go through. I think a more suitable statement would be : It's good that ARTPOP happens.
