Did Gaga and Bowie ever meet??

David Bowie was a highly problematic individual and vastly overrated, but that's another topic.

If he didn't appreciate Gaga's talent during his life, that's his loss. She bodied Space Oddity at the Grammys, made it her own damn song. Lorde's tribute was nothing compared to what Gaga pulled.

Hi. Biggest Bowie fan on Gaga Daily here.

Calm your arses down. Bowie did not hate Gaga. :madge:

Here's a few facts:

Gaga was friends with Bowie's wife, Iman. Confirmed in a Howard Stern interview.

The only time Bowie has addressed Gaga (it wasn't even him, but his close spokespeople) was when his team had to debunk rumours they were collaborating together. Look it up on his site. They even mentioned how people must have been wanting it.

Nile Rodgers, one of Bowie's former collaborators, worked with Gaga (and performed with her) on the tribute. Nile went on to defend Gaga against fellow Bowie fans who disapproved of her performance, and said he thought Bowie would've liked it. Gaga actually spoke with Bowie's inside team a while before she did it, to make sure they would be approving.

Bowie never talks about other artists. He's just not that way. Stop making drama when there isn't any. :tony: Lorde was an exception because they actually met, and got on very well. It was a dream come true for her.

Also, her performance was really not the best. It was chaotic, and as a Bowie fan, I can totally understand why a lot of people dislike it. :saladga: She didn't sing anything that wasn't a hit, and most of the songs she sang were from the Ziggy Stardust era. It was equivalent to someone doing a Lady Gaga tribute performance and only singing "Born This Way" and "Poker Face".

Lorde's was so much more heartfelt, if only to see his band play live for the final time.

Stop making it about who was better when it was about a tribute to a legend who died way too soon.

And finally, I love Gaga with all my heart, but you guys obviously haven't listened to anything other than Ziggy Stardust if you think his music is less diverse and conceptual than Gaga. Bowie's work is what Gaga probably aspires to, and rightfully so. :laughga:

bannedT for life and it's SAD
