craig 680
Why does Ireland always get new material first? They've got Taylor's single - its debuted at #11 there, the best chart position for her singles in Ireland since Love Story, which went to #3. Notice how it's her poppiest songs that always get the highest worldwide positions? I think because the UK is considered an important market. sales count 100% for charts, and it's very competitive. So American artists will just thrown singles out in Australia, Ireland etc, but want to wait til a Sunday or even til they can do promo in UK. StrawberryBlond 14,263
What caused Amy McDonald's album to go to #4? Did it have a huge reduction or something? I think it's funny when you consider that she gets nowhere near the attention other artists get, she doesn't make dance music and she only had one moderate hit five years ago, and yet she's charting better than Rihanna, Justin Beiber, etc. Adele took a very steep drop (for her) from #9 to #17. Normally Adele drops extremely slowly, especially when it's out the top 10. But 8 places in one swift move? Maybe it's a sign that the UK's finally moving on? Wonder how much higher Cheryl's new single can climb. No idea why her label thought that was the perfect song to release. It is shockingly bad. If it turns out to be an even worse flop than The Flood (#18, her lowest charting single), I wonder if she'll even bother releasing any more? I see Taylor's got off to a jack rabbit start, but can she maintain it? If she does, this could mean her first UK top ten single since Love Story. In fact, it'll only be her second UK top ten single. SomethingMore 1,701
39 - 38 - 106,600 - Rihanna - Loud - 1,823,000 - 27/11/10 - 19 Wow! Since Loud, Rihanna is bigger than Gaga in the UK. *Lady Gaga - Born This Way ~920.5k Come on ! :L4G: Reach that 1,000,000 ! What do u think. How much will BTW (album) benefit form the BTWB? I just calculated Born This Way sold 100,400 copies this year in the UK ! Thats amazing if you compare it to the USA where it sold just 135,000 this year.
