I think it's more because of expectation. Expectation for them to release music like their past massive hits, and for their songs to be immediate "hits". There's too much expectation and reliance on instantaneous number ones these days and for everyone to top both themselves and each other. It's not really about the quality of music anymore that is valued by radio, media and even fans, its all about who can hit that number one position on itunes or the chart first, and to hell with the quality and integrity of the music.

Sia is in her 40s and still gets played. And J.Lo and Mariah were both in their late 30s when they were still getting radio hits. On the floor was huge in 2011 and J.Lo was 41. It's no secret why gaga is having problems; poor single choices, music isn't trendy, no promo etc. Katy is only experiencing her decline now so it's understandable her songs would underperform this era. Let's not forget pop girls aren't the thing anymore and atm it's all male dominated.

It comes down to the music they're putting out compared to when they were both at their peak. Joanne isn't what we hoped LG5 would be, it's a good album and helped Gaga's image but it's not the album we dreamed for. It's the same with Witness, Katy was trying to change her image but it hasn't worked. I really hope Gaga becomes mainstream again with LG6, which is possible since The Cure was generic as **** and charted well considering it had no promo.

Is it just me or there is a difference between artists who stand in front of mics (Sia, Adele) and performers like Britney, Katy and Gaga? Performers kind of shrink faster than vocalist-artists.

Lol Sia got success because she hides behind a wig, otherwise Chandelier and Cheap Thrills would have never happened

I agree. That's the major reason. Katy and Gaga are past their peak. Ariane is around her peak now.

Nah, Katy will come back to the TD sound very soon than we think... she will not give away her crown that easily.. let's be real..

I think you are wrong, it all depends on the single and if it's radio friendly... even Sia with all her massive success had some flops.. it happens..

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy
