tomsches 17,392
#3 HOW BIG, HOW BLUE, HOW BEAUTIFUL Points: 119,5 Most points: 11, given by @GoldenPonyboy Fewest Points: 7, given by King Elizabtich and Theodore Comments: - "Remember when the tune was first revealed in the album trailer? This song is stunning. I love those lyrics, I love those trumpets when the instrumentals take over and those last 20 seconds are just heavenly. I can't with this song, it's perfection! - "How beautiful but a little long and drags." - "I'm speechless. one of my favorite songs from Florence. Beauty in a song. " - "The sun after a thunderstorm. The title track is pure joy, accepting, contentment. Some of the best lyrics from this album are hidden in this track. When the thorns come in there's a slowly built catharsis, kind of like a healing spell. I enjoy the demo almost more than the album track, feels much more sensual and magical. I don't know if it makes sense, but the song does feel like a breeze of fresh air under a cloudless sky."

tomsches 17,392
Before I reveal the top 2, I want to use this opportunity to thank you very much. I want to thank all of you, first of all, for showing interest in this megarate. Not all of you participated, but it means a lot to me that a thread that I created didn't flop hard and it means even more that such an amazing band and such a brilliant album receive the recognition they deserve. Of course I also want to say thank you for everyone who sent me their scores and comments, it was great fun reading what you guys think of the album. I know I might not be the best megarate host. I'm just not good with visuals and promoting myself on this forum, so I figured I'll just let the songs speak for themselves. So now that you're all that excited to see who on this, I am going to post the final two songs in a minute and I wish you all a happy JOANNE WORLD TOUR OPENING NIGHT! tomsches 17,392
#2 - WHAT KIND OF MAN Points: 121,5 Most points: 11, given by @OliverViennese @huttont Fewest Points: 8, given by @Theodore @BBhomemaker Comments: - "Oh what a lead single this is. She really did that! I remember all the times I have been going for a run and this came on, I instantly felt so energized. It's simply amazing and even after two years gets me to an ecstatic state of mind, when I sing/scream/shout those lyrics. One of their (if not the) best F+tM song(s)!" - "What kind of song rocks like this" - "I love the guitar on this track, great high energy track" - "One of my favorite tracks on the album, filled with rage from the very first second, words come out of her mouth like knifes. When the beat hits, I'm never ready for it, like some kind of exorcism, purges the resentment from my body. As the song reaches the end, it forgets what it was raging about and becomes more of a pain infused tantrum. When it ends, What Kind Of Man is not just about a lover but also about oneself." ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ #1 - QUEEN OF PEACE Points: 122,5 Most points: 11, given by @milotomi19 @lilmonster93 @Tanner Fewest Points: 7, given by @BBhomemaker @GoldenPonyboy Comments: - "So epic and cinematic it could be used both in a fantastic film with elves and an indie production about fateful queer love. As cinematic as "Breath of Life", the Queen of Peace is everything a queen is not supposed to be. It's resentment, fury, rage and yet she conceals it everytime the chorus fades. "And my love is no good against the fortress that it made of you" puts down the song so perfectly. Florence sings how the Queen "always does her best to pelase" followed by "is it any use? somebody's gotta lose": she's warning that yes, the Queen will not break out a war, but that doesn't make her good." - "maybe a little more forgettable, but the way the tracklist is setup does not help it, since all the best songs are at the start. " - "I love the energy of this song; it starts and never lets up. The upbeat rock production puts you in a great mood. Florence’s strong delivery makes you wanna sing and belt along. And the lyrics masterly tell a story of battle and damage as well the feeling of a bad relationship."

Both songs are WINNERS and so is the whole album imo. This Megarate was great. Thanks so much for hosting it!
