Kendrick Lamar's new album is definitely AOTY for the Grammy's this year, and I'm so ready for it. If any other big name artist has to win that award, I'll be glad he wins, but... That J 12,166
Music sucks. Hip hop isn't the problem. It's everyone trying to do it while the masters need to continue reinvigorating it with freshness. RonnieGagz 4,300
That's why I'm into indie music now Call me racist, call me close minded, "excuse me no" me, but most of Hip Hop/Rap music is not my thing. ♡Gaga♡TØP♡Nightwish♡Lana♡Lorde♡Grimes♡

If there was ever someone at school playing music out loud, it was always hip-hop/R&B. Every time someone's music was loud enough for ANYONE else to hear, it has always been Hip-Hop/R&B. I agree, hip-hop/R&B has been the dominant genre for years, but thanks to streaming (and less illegal downloading) is now official. Streaming gave the hip-hop community and their fans a new kind of power. It's showing everyone how powerful they've always been. 🔵 - Banned because I quoted a stupid meme. Literally. So, yeah. That's not being racist or close-minded, you just don't like Hip Hop/Rap. I'm not a fan of it either, so it's fine. GoldenPonyboy 2,284
I'm telling you, streaming is going to ruin music. It seems as though the new generation who listens to music via streaming services do not know older artists and classics, they subscribe to a playlist and eat up whatever they are fed. I remember being a kid, my first music experience were with my parents CD's so I would listen to the classics before even hearing current stuff. Now, kid's first experience with music is managed by record label execs who pay spotify to have a song in their hit list.

Radio Ga Ga 5,657
I really don't get hip hop tbh Like there's no friggin melody! How can you listen to just a rhythm for hours? I really wish I could enjoy this genre, but I just can't. I don't feel any emotions in the songs, especially when the lyrics are utter trash or unrelatable I'm melting down so hard rn, someone call ambulance please

NIghtmareElm 2,606
Hip hop is a great genre though. Like pop, it's a very diverse genre with a lot of sub genres. At least modern country isn't dominating.
