Um hello! Christina AGUILERA! Her father is from Ecuador and she may not speak perfect Spanish but she understands it. She counts... but her Spanish songs weren't huge hits though.

hi there, that doesn't make any sense. Christina Aguilera is not latin, that's like saying Gaga is an Italian superstar when she's not.  I can understand french, if I make a song in french does that make me french? no. Making songs in spanish was a nice thing from her but that doesn't make her latin

Ecuador is a country in South America. They speak Spanish. Her father is from Ecuador. Christina Aguilera is Hispanic/Latina! Just like my parents being from Mexico, just because I was born in the USA doenst mean I'm not Latino.

And no, she's not Latina enough, she doesn't know spanish, just because she has a latin father that doesn't make her latina! She's born and raised in the US.

My grand father is from Brazil and I could consider myself brazilian, but no, I don't know anything about brazil and I don't speak portuguese. Of course I could say my roots are brazilian and all that, but that doesn't make me from there.

But if she likes to consider herself a ''proud latina women'' she can, she can say she's from whatever place makes her feel comfortable. But being latina without knowing the language or have lived during a long time in a south american country doesn't make any sense.

Spanish songs are always well known worldwide, except for racist anglo-saxon countries who hate Spanish for whatever reason.

Chantaje was a huge hit WW and Bailando was almost as big as Despacito.
