Where not spanish songs, la isla bonita has one sentence in spanish, and those artists aren't from latin america or spain. If you want a pop girl that's huge with spanish songs, that's Shakira, not Madonna or Xtina Um hello! Christina AGUILERA! Her father is from Ecuador and she may not speak perfect Spanish but she understands it. She counts... but her Spanish songs weren't huge hits though. Christina Aguilera is Hispanic/Latina! Just like my parents being from Mexico, just because I was born in the USA doenst mean I'm not Latino. """Christina Aguilera says she’s been criticized for not being Latina enough. “I’ve dealt with that [criticism] my whole life,” she said in an interview with Latina Magazine. “I don’t speak the language fluently. And I’m split right down the middle, half Irish and half Ecuadorean. I should not have to prove my ethnicity to anyone. I know who I am.” In the magazine’s March issue, Aguilera opens up about her Hispanic heritage, her turbulent relationship with her father, and her role in the reality talent show “The Voice,” which is starting its second season. “I wouldn’t be questioned [about my heritage] if I looked more stereotypically Latina,” she said. “Whatever that is. All I know is no one can tell me I’m not a proud Latina woman... I dove headfirst into a Spanish-language album for that reason and I’m planning another one even though I don’t speak the language. I’m sure that doesn’t sit well with some people.” The platinum blonde, who was born in Staten Island, New York, first publicly explored her Latin roots in 2000 with her album “Mi Reflejo” (“My Reflection”). The album won Aguilera two Billboard Latin Music Awards and one Latin Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Album. In 2011, she again returned to her roots with the song “La Casa” (“The Home”).""" http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/1258067

My grand father is from Brazil and I could consider myself brazilian, but no, I don't know anything about brazil and I don't speak portuguese. Of course I could say my roots are brazilian and all that, but that doesn't make me from there. But if she likes to consider herself a ''proud latina women'' she can, she can say she's from whatever place makes her feel comfortable. But being latina without knowing the language or have lived during a long time in a south american country doesn't make any sense. I See You

Naor Daniel 937
Spanish songs are always well known worldwide, except for racist anglo-saxon countries who hate Spanish for whatever reason. Chantaje was a huge hit WW and Bailando was almost as big as Despacito. Danza Kudoro, does any American even know this huge hit? Ugh...
