Or they could just be joking :selena:

I know some are jokes and I can respect those :D, I'm talking about people who legitimately think that Gaga created Country/Folk music with Joanne. :derpga:

Gaga is responsible for planting the seeds. Had she not released Joanne and hit #1, these artists would have released the same songs with the production of Kygo or the Chainsmokers.

delusional. perfect illusion and joanne had a medium impact, obviously, but gaga is not the reason the mainstream sound is changing.

maybe a medium impact to the GP but the music industry ALWAYS pays attention to Gaga because she is always ahead of the trend.

Remember when she was experimenting with trap in 2012 on CLLG? What sound blew up in 2013? Or how Gaga made electro-pop big in 2008/2009 and everyone adopted it in 2010/2011. This is certainly an example of Gaga contributing to the cultural water channels... People used to make jokes in 2015 that Gaga would ever tap into country. All they said was disco disco disco. How did LG5 sound? Country/Rock. It's not about how well Joanne did (it still was a prominent release and one of the highest female sellers of 2016 and still the highest female seller of 2017), it's about the fact that a major star opened that door.

you're reaching now or maybe you don't know what you're talking about.

CLLG was a trap experiment because trap underground artists were starting to grow. DJWS knew that, Lady Gaga knew that and it still was nothing else than a joke. CLLG couldn't possibly have an impact because it was nothing more than a fan treat and an inside joke between Gaga and Paul.

it's delusional to say Gaga is always ahead of the industry because it's unfair. the truth is there's no one ahead, anyone barely sets a trend because the music industry, like most industries, works on a cycle.

Queen of making country artists release country music.

I live outside the space time continuum.

They share a similar sound and tonal vibe, but yeah that doesn't mean Gaga necessarily influenced Kesha.

But who knows? Kesha is a stan, maybe she was influenced by Gaga. Hell, maybe Gaga was influenced by Kesha a year ago.

3 points in and ready for more

I love this comment so much!

I actually do have a semi-weak theory that Kesha ghost wrote bits of Joanne with Gaga since, legally, Kesha couldn't get credited for co-writing for a while. Lyrically, for some reason, John Wayne sounds a little Kesha-ish to me. :D
