Love and respect all these varying relationships but how can we talk about this issue without alienating everyone?  I am liberal, feminist, queer, misfit, whatever the ****...but good god, I loathe the whole "queer (yes I just used it to describe myself), poly, cis, privileged, white, heteronormative, etc etc etc " language we use to describe it.  There is no way to progress while using terms that many Americans (and others around the globe, I'm sure) do not understand or relate to.  

Also, these emerging modern relationships make it insanely difficult for us middle-grounded, hopeless romantic people who want a monogamous, open-minded relationship (no marriage and kids for me though).
