SlaeUrAnus 15,956
Fans that have been around since the beginning (like me) have grew up and discovered responsibilities that limits the time I spend 'obsessing' about Gaga. I'm still a fan, but no doubt people during that period would have went astray. She would have irrefutably gained new fans ever since, but if she catered to the new demographic more, I could see her gaining a massive amount of new fans. But to answer your question, in my opinion, yes she is In my messy era.
Sense8 182
It´s normal. It happens now,it happened to other artists before. As long as she is determined to convince that she is more than Poker Face and Bad Romance, she´ll keep on "losing" some fans. It´s part of a musician´s artistic evolution. But fans are just a drop in an ocean. She can have more than that, and she knows it. The core of her devoted fanbase will stay the same no matter what. Those that will abandon the ship ,will be the ones that they are mostly care about her Billboard achievents and her Metatric scores. But the truth is that there were so many legendary artist without #1s or the haven´t continously occupied the charts with platinum albums .
Lanius 1,055
OT: I wouldn't say "lose" more like Alienate.
Bratney 82
I think Lady Gaga attracts all ages now, and not everyone needs to follow her on social media. I think it shows in her live performances, the amount of people who will go out and pay to see her. Selena Gomez has the most instagram followers, yet isn't winning awards, selling out albums, concerts, isn't making any headlines, unless it involves JB. If you ask your grandparents if they heard of lady gaga, most likely a yes, over any other current "pop star" So just because your age group, community, whatever doesn't seem to follow her, doesn't mean she's isn't number one or lost fans. xox ₊˚ ‿︵‿︵‿︵୨୧ · · ♡ · · ୨୧‿︵‿︵‿︵ ˚₊
Arcanum 5,155
C2C brought some new fans. They are not aware of internet though. I Wantth your Love...I Wantth your Love.
Irrelevant 20,282
These threads are becoming increasingly common ever since the Dive Bar Tour Postponement But, yes. I think it's normal tho. 광야로 걸어가 알아 네 home ground
XXXXX 4,775
I think she had a lot of child/early teen fans who left her after she changed her musical directions and I also think that a lot of these fake fans left her after ARTPOP flopped. She makes great music that's why she loses her old fans.
Lucas 26,831
She lost STANS but won fans I believe
Mary Jane Wayne 1,997
Oh god not these types of threads again...I hope it doesn't offend you because I've been guilty about the same thing too. Gaga is still iconic, Gaga is still Gaga but she is just not as popular as she used to be before, which is normal, all artists fade away eventually. She can't be on top of the world forever plus look at the billboard hot 100 chart for gods sake, talent isn't appreciated at all nowadays so her being less popular than she used to be isn't quite a bad thing. She did lost some fans and her drive to be the biggest pop star in the world but I don't blame her for that. We don't know what it's like to walk in her shoes, maybe she wants a more peaceful, quieter life right now. I love Gaga and I would be happy to see her succeeding but she's a person just like the rest of us. Her well being is more important to me than her "slaying" or whatever. Celebrity cults look so shallow to me, it makes pop stars seem less of a human than they are. Let them live. In short, I WAS PISSED OFF IN THE BEGINNING BUT I LEARNED TO GET OVER IT. Buddy 5,686
Super fans are checking for her less but she has brought back a respect factor so casual fans are paying attention a bit more. Although her super fans are not checking as much, if they stuck through ARTPOP I think it's safe to say they're not going anywhere permanently and she can always win them back
Andrea B 16,750
She lost A LOT of fans back in 2013, I was on stan twitter and everyone even her own fans were bashing her. the media, the general public hated her... she release cheek to cheek and she gained older fans (not that many) now with Joanne she has the general public by her side and they really love her. I wouldn't say she lost fans with joanne maybe she lost stans, ppl who track the charts, who support her no matter what, etc. Our fanbase is not like it used to be anymore, I remember in 2011 it was HUGE and now we're not that many, she still has millions of fans of course but not so many stans and the problem(not really a problem) is that she keeps changing her music style, she went from electro-pop to jazz and to jazz to pop/country, I love this about her! she keeps me entertained but the old fans don't like this, it's marketing, not saying Gaga is a product but she has a brand and her music is her brand too, she needs to release POP music again in order to gain more stans and her older ex-stans. maybe I'm wrong but this is my point of view, I've been a stan since 2010. we're still a pretty big fanbase but not like we used to be. edit: I forgot about this but the ''broken promises'' are not really helping... I'll be still here but I'm not that hyped anymore about her music, it makes me kinda sad.
brit4ever 2,034
Well, she lost a lot of fans. When I was in 7th grade and she released Bad Romance I remember that all of my clasmates said they like her and that she is amazing, but it stopped after she released BTW. Everyone decided she is too weird and a tryhard and that she is for gays only and suddenly stopped listening to her music. The problem is that many people still think she is a tryhard and weirdo(especialy in continetal Europe, where the thing people remember about her is the meat dress, that received a lot of criticism and scepticism.). Back in 2009 or 2010 when Gaga was "on top" she maybe had more casual fans than she does now, but she had way more haters. In 2012 it wasn't even cool to like her in the gay community. This. So much this. God forbid anyone I went out on a date with found out about my obsession with Gaga. And since that isn't something I hide at all...well, let's just say out of 9 first dates, I had zero second dates. Spoiler Of course, maybe that had less to do about Gaga and more about how ugly I am Back then, all I heard was "she's weird" "how can you like her?" "She's such a tryhard". Now all I hear is "I didn't know she could sing like that" which infuriates me. It's like when people ask the gay couple the "which one's the man and which one's the woman" question. Neight Shayde 7,925
She always loses fans with every reinvention, but she also gains a lot at the same time. (e.g JOANNE converted a lot of casual listeners into gaga fans)
