Her 170m+ grossing tour proves shes relevant

Tours are certainly good for remembering the old times:sure:

However they hardly prove if an artist is still relevant

the gp forgot about Applause v quickly.

Says who? Even if they did, it was still a worldwide hit

and if Macrumble decided to drop a surprise single (ala the Cure) the GP would tell her to get in line with Tony Bennett and Cher, whereas Gaga can shoot to the top of the iTunes charts globally within hours

What are you on?

When Madonna was Gaga's age she was getting multiple worldwide #1 hits, Gaga is struggling.

Well, take that.

The Music market was different back then! GAGA sadly will probably never have another number one hit. However gaga is the better out of the two!

Okay

It's way too stupid to compare someone who is in the industry for 35 years and someone who isn't even a decade. So lets take a look at the time when Madonna was at Gaga's age/years in music.

Madonna at 30/31:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Like_a_Prayer_(album)#Charts

Gaga at 30/31:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joanne_(album)#Charts

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perfect_Illusion#Charts

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Million_Reasons#Charts

Madonna's tour for her first "flop":

1993 - $116.05 million in 2016 dollars

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Girlie_Show_World_Tour#Shows

Gaga's tour for her first "flop":

2014 - $83 million

I can really go on and on and on.

I feel bad for doing this :diane: but some of yall need to take off your stan goggles :awkney::awkney:

So can Drake. Does that make him more of a legend than Madonna? No.

(Macrumble tho. I laughed.)

Witness was a #1 album too. That doesn't prove your point

24k Magic which is Bruno's newest album DIDN'T hit #1 but is still charting inside the Top 10 on BB200 (it was released around the same time as JOANNE, which left the charts for good).

Over.

Sweetie: Roar, Royals, Wrecking Ball... Were WW hits in 2013

Applause was a moderate hit and is now forgotten for good...

Madonna is iconic, end of story. Some people around here might hate, but it's undeniable her power and career. She is still making headlines, even if her music isn't really groundbreaking anymore.

Haters are those typical Gaga stans who are completely detached of resl life. I'm not even a Madonna fan, but she's the only pop artist who can call herself iconic. Gaga is the closest pop star to get Madonna's status, that's for sure.

Y'all may call her irrelevant but her latest album didn't sell much less than Joanne (the difference is around 300k) and let's not forget the fact that Gaga had Superbowl.

I wish Gaga wasn't so salty about the whole Madonna thing, tbh. Still want a collab. :noparty:

Correction, Gaga's carreer has lasted 9 years and next year it will be 10

Madonna is over

Byyyyyyye bitch

Like this is so embarrassing, why would you post something like this? :air:

Madonna's career lasted around three decades with actual hits from her own albums

Gaga ""might"" be relevant because of the Halftime Show and her multiple Award Shows appearances, but her music is doing bad commercially

Lol, you pathetic pressedt stans trashing Madonna like....:ladyhaha:  let's talk when Gaga can get major WW smashes at 48 like Hung Up and Sorry with a radio boycott in the US :nails:

Madonna is a legend and her full speech at the Billboard Women Of The Year Award gave me chills. TRULY A LEGEND!!!

That being said I think Gaga will have commercial longevity, I think she plans to have at least a "commercial" EP soon and I'm sure that the ASIB soundtrack will be much more commercial than Joanne. I really think that she wants commercial success rn, and we know that when Gaga wants commercial success, she will have it, example, The Fame, but let's just wait and see :lana:

But Madonna has only earned that status by being in the industry a long time. Its unfair to bring down Gaga just simply because she is still young in her carreer.

Madonna is over, nobody is interested in her anymore.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3510445/Madonna-toxic-figure-millennials-think-desperate-embarrassing-17-times-influential-Taylor-Swift.html

It doesnt take away from all the success she has had, or the things she has stood up for.

But she isn't relevant in todays pop world:awkney:

So yeah, she is a legend. People look up to her for inspiration. But I'd rather pick Stevie Wonder or Elton John over her anyday.
