Madonna with Hung Up tbh. I think we all (wrongly) thought she was too old to be commercially successful after the undeserving floppage of American Life.

Omg Justin Bieber Def. He was doing good since his debut to Believe era and then he started to mess up. He was out off public favour because of all the messy stuff he was doing, released a flop project with Journals a and then came back so strong and even scored a Grammy, several #1's, (can't remember well) around 600+ sales first week for Purpose, a massive world tour and **** pics. That's a comeback

ADELE.

When the bitch said 'Hello it's me...' on the X-factor I was SHOOKETH and I could relate to the song very well and few months after the release of '25' I could relate to it so much... I felt really old bespite not being in my 20's back then... :toofunny: And then almost everyone loved her and she did some nice shows for TV and she announced a world tour and slayed! And now we can wait for her next comeback...

MESS I forgot ha. Madonna definitely had some comebacks. ROL was a critical comeback from Erotica/BS (although they had their hits, GP wasn't feeling her image) and COADF with Hung Up was record-breaking.

Would you define a comeback as '' someone who just went on hiatus for a bit (to write new songs, to relax, all that jazz) and came out stronger than ever/as strong as before '' or '' someone who had an ungracious exit from the music business for a while and came back to destroy the charts '' ?

Either way, from recent memory, it's easily Adele. She was gone from the scene for a good time, then came back and smashed the industry for the second time. She could've flopped, but she didn't, people were still interested in her. And now she is definitely a legend to remember.

More like - returned from a period of career/critical/commercial lows and rose back to prominence when many had written the act off as having passed their peak. Mariah after Glitter, Madonna after American Life, Britney after 2007, Kesha after her lawsuit, etc.

Only reason why I never considered Adele to have a comeback, she went away for a bit but she followed one peak with the next. So that'd be filed under your first definition, along with probably Gaga :air:

If it's a comeback in a pop stan sense then it's Mariah. Glitter was a flop and Charmbracelet was the nail in the coffin. Then she went on to do TEOM with WBT giving her SECOND song of the decade. Not everybody has that.

Another is Justin. Journals although not an album was a total flop and the bad publicity continued for years but then it seemed like Purpose was this decade's TEOM.
