Kesha - Praying

I'm in tears. Her voice is full of so much pain and sorrow and it makes me full of emotion and I know I can never feel what she is feeling right now or experience what she has experienced, but her voice speaks for itself.

The video is so beautifully shot too. I'm so proud of my girl Kesha, she has turned this situation into a new beginning for her to move on into the light.

I really didn't know how this was going to go, but damn, she delivered in spades. Her vocals are so improved and show that this is what was hiding all this time that wasn't allowed to be shown. Her lyrics cut right to the bone and that high note, as one commenter said "snatched my soul." I've heard better executed high notes but that was the high note with the most heart. The music video was also amazing. The aesthetics are very Gaga but I really don't mind. It comes off as inspiration than mimicry and we know for a fact that Gaga inspired her and that they talked. The black and white monologue parts are also very Beyonce/Lemonade but then, this was done long before then, it's just that she might have been inspired by that whole concept right now as it's the most recent example. But there's enough of Kesha's personality in this with the clothes, make-up, glitter, even the pig heads (remember those unicorn heads in Blow?) This is like the true Kesha emerging. The first time I watched this, I remained straight-faced but by the second time, I was borderline crying. That line: "God, give me a sign or I have to give up. I can't do this anymore. Please just let me die. Being alive hurts too much" - that just takes me back to the time when I thought I was going to die of a mysterious, recurrent virus some years ago that rendered me bed-bound for a week once a month. I really thought I wasn't long for this world. Even now, all these years later, monologues like this still bring all those feelings back.

I still don't know the full story with how this is being released, though. Her album's being released through Kemosabe, which Dr Luke apparently isn't a part of anymore but he claims that she's still contracted to him. I don't like to think that he's somehow still profiting off this. I expected any new music to be on her personal channel, so was thrilled when it was on Vevo. But does that mean that Luke's still attached to her if it's through official channels? Why would he want to profit off a negative track about him? Some strong information would be nice.

The video gave me Lemonade and ARTPOP vibes and the song/vocals remind me of Pink. It's the best song Kesha has ever released imo. It's beautiful!

I'm really not this :spin: The instrumental and lyrics and stuff are good but I'm not a fan of Kesha's voice accompanying it, like it seems really shouty and harsh on top and not in a good empowering way  Which is weird because I do like her voice but here it's just too much all happening and it became overwhelming :S

Haven't seen the video yet so maybe that'll change things

the aesthetics in the video puts the joanne era MV to shame.

Well. I don't like it. It's not my style and I have never been a fan of Kesha nor her voice.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.
