n0ne 13,105
I'd say a mid-sized hit "My people… need to let our bitchiness out. Otherwise, it turns to bile and poisons us"
DeleteMyAccount 11,881
I think it was. It's definitely the dad favorite. haha It wasn't a massive hit, but it did it's job, made sales, charted pretty well and managed to get a Grammy nomination too. holy scheisse 22,254
Spoiler isnt it crazy that You and I was her last hit behind Applause and Million Reasons... yes it charted well (edit: in USA at least) and people liked it. not as big as btw or teog, but it was still a hit. i know people who view it as their favorite gaga song tbh. it is one of her best. ageless. timeless. iconic. although i remember at the time i was soooo pissed bc we had already had you and i for like 2 years (bc she was performing it at the monster ball) and she decided to make it a single. gurl. i remember being like WTF why not scheisse? hello gags (but in the long run, im glad it was a ssingle and got the exposure it did)

Fernster7 7,922
Yes, it was a hit in the US, and lately I feel like it's one of her signature songs there, like did you see the Coachella performance of it? Everyone knew the lyrics. Monsters never die.
Talent 9,333
A cute hit. And the best song on BTW. Pause UP, little monsters. 🔵 - Banned because I quoted a stupid meme. Literally. So, yeah.
SiliconeMonster 1,617
Surprisingly, a lot of non-monsters I know, know and love this song but nothing else from BTW. Idk why. Find your freedom in the music
The Child 18,997
I've never liked this song. ‘If religion be the cause of disunity, then irreligion is surely to be preferred.’ ‘Abdu’l-Bahá
Ladygagalover 604
Yoü and I was like the first glimpse of the more stripped back and vocally-focused Gaga we have now. It definitely helped her popularity with the older demographic and with the demographic that is less interested in pure pop music. I think it's an amazing song and it's a definite hit in the US. bumblebee 2,528
It was a hit in the USA, it did amazingly well on the pop radio and in terms of sales. As has been said above, the song did help Gaga broaden her audience, and it was also more stripped down and down to earth sound which was made so popular by Adele in 2011. I loved the remixes of the song so much. Also, when I watch her perform You and I for the first time, it always gives me chills
BlackJudas 129
Definitely a hit and of my favorite songs from her catalog. Wish should would do an album that sounds like You & I, The Queen, Electric Chapel and Living on the Radio.
