Sneaky Oliver 22,221
Hey guys...some of you may call it a “reach” but I’ve been discussing with a little monster friend of mine (not from GGD) about this “non-sense party-like tour” that maybe we don’t understand very well. Maybe you can appreciate it a little more like I do now so all the artrave hate.... After the space renegade escaped and killed the evil Mother G.O.A.T., “Lady Gaga has been sent to Earth to infiltrate human culture one sequin at a time” (Gagavision). “It was instantly that this enigmatic fugitive became the host agent and body to a new colony. A colony which would strive to extract our most classified information. A monstrous preparation it was. Training and decoding the creativity of rebellion for one purpose: to invade Earth.” – MOTHER G.O.A.T. But wait, who’s Lady Gaga? “I am not an alien. [...] I am you”. - Gaga during BTWBT. The artrave starts with he birth of Lady Gaga on Earth rising from the sea like Venus. There’s a Koons Ball attached to her chest that reflects everything around her – the stage, the lights and the fans. That’s who she is: the artist – She is us ‘cause we created her. She’s all about the performance, the love from her fans and, of course, the applause. “Tonight, we come together to celebrate our mutual love and adoration for each other, but most importantly, to celebrate your talent, your creativity, to awaken the wild and beautiful minds. Tonight we put art in the front of all things, we embark on a ritual dance of creative rebellion” - Gaga on Artrave The next segment starts with Venus. She became the personification of the creative rebellion, the ARTPOP, the Goddess of Love herself. The next three segments display the journey that leads to ARTPOP, to the rave just like the Glitter Way led us to the Monster Ball. It’s the same concept from VMA 2013 performance. But who's the girl behind the aura? Underneath all the magic, the wigs and crazy outfits, there’s a girl whose heart is full of pain and rage. However, the art comes from there. To turn something scary, dark, painful into something beautiful, shiny and colorful - that's her art. There she is: this naked and vulnerable girl in front of our very eyes just about to transform again into the craziest, the wildest and most magical part of her persona. “When I wrote this album, I wanted to create something full of joy. A celebration. Something that took all my mess and all my pain, and turned it into the most beautiful, schizophrenic, psychedelic dance full of color, loud electronic music, the most outrageous fashion, something nearly impossible to follow like my heart, like my mind”. - Gaga If the Monster Ball tells the story of the young Stefani pursuing her dreams, the artRave tells us how she achieved them. Hope you like it! Bye!
Eurotrash 1,621
Kind of a reach, but yeah, I can see what you mean. But honestly, I think it is a "non-sense party-like tour"
Red 98,021
Hmmmmm... ehh... I kinda like the fact that the artRAVE doesn't have a story. I think he Monster Ball and the Born This Way Ball plots were kinda too complex and distracting from the show. If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating. Bradley 59,173
It's a very interesting concept. But I feel like you could have explored a little deeper and make it more cohesive. ARTPOP is about celebrating diversity and multiple personas, hence the different wigs and personas for a single show. Act I was Lady Gaga. Act II was Goddess of Love. Act III was The Fame Gaga. Act IV was acousticVocalGa. Act V was a more sexual and wild persona of Gaga, hence Sexxx Dreams, Mary Jane Holland and Alejandro. Act VI was Rave Girl. Encore was the time for connection between fans and Gaga. (Gypsy, she did the same with Marry the Night for BTWB) Sure artRAVE didn't have a storyline, but it was a rave party that was intense and exciting. It was almost like an anthology musical performance.

I love your concept! Thanks!
