Was Gaga Psychologically Projecting at ArtRave?

I was watching Gaga's final ArtRave speech when these lines struck me:

"I hope that you always remember this time in our lives together. When we painted each other's faces and called each other monsters, and talked about love and art all night long. Every year when I travel around the world I always wonder if things will be different. Maybe one year you won't come to the show, or you will be less festive or not dressed up...or something different."

"Psychological projection is a theory in psychology in which humans defend themselves against their own unconscious impulses or qualities (both positive and negative) by denying their existence in themselves while attributing them to others."

Example: You hate your sister-in-law but don't want to admit it, so you convince yourself that she's the one that hates you. Or you're in a relationship and are tempted to cheat on your partner, so you accuse your partner of being unfaithful. Or you are ashamed of your secret desire to listen to Katy Perry, so you project this self-hate onto others by dragging every Kety stan you see.

Just recall that this is the end of ARTPOP, Gaga's lowest performing era. She's been betrayed by the people around her. She's thinking about quitting the music industry and retiring to her chicken farm for good. But she sees how much her fans still adore her at this final ArtRave show and is thus overwhelmed by a feeling of guilt. Therefore, she projects her personal uncertainties onto us.

"I'm sick of this life. I don't want to keep touring. I'm tired of dressing up in crazy costumes and singing about planets. My bones hurt. My zucchinis haven't been watered in weeks. But I can't possibly let anyone know that. These people all love me and I can't let them down."

She is ashamed and scared of her desire to quit the music industry, so she projects this fear onto us by making it seem like we will suddenly 'quit' her.

Now if you flip the subject of the speech (so that she is no longer talking about the fans, but rather herself), it starts to make more sense:

"I hope that I always remember this time in our lives together." [because I really want to forget this, but I can't let you know that] 

"When we painted each other's faces and called each other monsters [...]" [because I lowkey just want to call you my fans but I can't let you know that]

"Every year when I travel around the world I always wonder if things will be different. Maybe one year I won't come to the show, or I will be less festive or not dressed up...or something different."  [because I want to throw away the meat dress and the lobster hat and just wear shorts and uggs like a regular gal but I can't let you know that]

Reverse Psychological Expedition? Or "Hear My Sinner's Reach (Trump Should be Impeached)"?

Really love your posts like these, and it makes a lot of sense to me. At the end of the day none of us know Gaga personally, but it certainly fits with what changes she went through after ARTPOP. Normally her changes involve going from one wild style to the next, but Joanne seems like a girl any of us could see walking down the street who likes to sing, but isn't striving to be in your face, and everything she said at ARTRAVE really fits with this huge change. Everything she goes through she is aware that her fans will in a way be going through as well, so a shift in her career and how she presents herself will definitely affect the fanbase, her message at ARTRAVE is like a preparation for what is to come.
