If you mean sex, this is false as well. Millions of "in-betweeners" are born yearly, known as intersex people or formerly (outdated term) hermaphrodites. If you do in fact mean gender, there is no biological basis for it in the first place. Humans just developed it themselves to assign arbitrary roles and tasks, and those distinctions are unnecessary for modern life 

When one comes to recognize gender as a product of society instead of biology, you don't really see it as coming up with new genders but that gender itself is "unreal," and they are only new labels to make people feel more at home with their identity. Completely harmless is what it is either way, so you shouldn't worry about it tbh
