It's a 6 for me.

I really do appreciate the raw unfiltered vibe the album gave, you can tell she had a lot of fun making it and how uncalculated it is, it's just a compilation of some tracks she felt like doing that don't necessarily tie into a specific theme.

That's also kinda where it falls for me though, it doesn't feel like an album 3 years in the making and I felt like it came at the wrong time in her career, it was set to be a huge deciding moment not just in her career but in the pop music atmosphere :green:

I also as a personal preference just don't really enjoy the genres, but that's not her problem. I was kinda hoping for a hard rock kinda theme and I remember the 3 second PI snippet got me hyped up to that because I thought all my anticipations were true :air:

Overall its a solid album but it just isnt tied together as much as I'd like it to be and I'm not a fan of the genres, but I think it's still a good addition to her discography and it certainly lives up to her other albums despite its differences.

this. (although I still adore PI)

be kind guys

9, without a doubt. It's my favorite Gaga album after Born This Way and I would give it a 10 if Perfect Illusion and Hey Girl didn't exist.

9.

the reasons it's not perfect for me are that

(1) it took a few weeks for a-yo to grow on me;

(2) sometimes i can listen to hey girl and feel the vibe it's radiating, sometimes i must skip it;

(3) grigio girl is the epitome of emotional ambivalence: there was a time when i was listening to it on repeat, but now i'm only able to listen to it when i'm in a certain mood.

otherwise, DH and JAD are probably in my top10 gagz songs.

lost in limbo

9.5

It's an amazing, fun, yet sad album that Gaga loved to do, and I love every single song in it, but it's no. 4 in my overall Gaga albums list (TFM, ARTPOP and BTW rule bish, bye).

this is the state of grace, this is the worthwhile fight

The first half of the album would get an 8 from me... but the second half (minus Angel Down and Sinners Prayer) probably falls to about a 5 or 6. Hey Girl, Just Another Day, Come To Mama, Grigio Girls... they're all very solid songs and I absolutely love listening to them - but they're just not very Gaga to me. They're just songs. Nothing special.

The holy trinity of John Wayne, Dancing in Circles and Perfect Illusion easily makes it a worthwhile album, though. You've then got Diamond Heart, A-Yo and Million Reasons... they are also really impressive, too.

Hey Girl, Sinners Prayer, Angel Down are AMAZING. Come To Mama is kind of...trash
