I thought she was Katy Perry the first time I listened to Somebody That I Used to Know on the radio :flop:

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

Change the link to Sweet Relief to 90s Music or Miracle tbh  But yes, she's a goddess and IDK why critics didn't hit up the avant garde art pop, soul, electronica, R&B conceptual MASTERPIECE that is The Golden Echo. I think they thought it was pretentious, but unlike albums like ARTPOP (no shade, love that album) it was actually perfectly executed and the themes were reflected throughout the music :air:

私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

I really want to like her. She has got a fantastic voice, great ideas and a few fantastic songs (I will never not love Teen Heat, and Settle Down is low-key a classic) but I feel she rarely gets the execution right. The Golden Echo was an overproduced MESS.

But yeah, I hope whatever she comes up with next is actually good because her brand of genre-hopping, experimental pop should be right up my street.

YES. Kimbra's good but I can't imagine her ever coming up with anything half as good as Heart's A Mess, for example
