how are any of these controversial?

Cause they're iconic and have controversial themes. Nicki's albums talk about LGBT issues, Britney talks about sex, Demi talks about bisexuality issues and Selegend talks about resurrection.

So is JayZ cheating or no?

Who is Becky with the good hair?

Is beyonce racist?

Are the grammys racist?

Isn't Lemonade contradictory to her feminist ideology?

All of that got overshadowed by the immense and undeserved praise Beyoncé gets. Those in bold I haven't heard once

I'd say Holy Wood could go in here too, but great list

Yes! How could I forget Holy Wood, that was his post-Columbine album and it was very political. I guess the entire triptych was controversial.

Born This Way

Like A Virgin

Can't Be Tamed

Witness

Exactly. People don't realize how much of a risk releasing "born this way" was because we all know the leftists love anything weird, gay, etc haha. Gaga once said that her monsters were the real writers of the BTW album because she would listen to our stories of being bullied, kicked out of homes for being gay, etc. She took all of those stories and put them on a cd as a way to say "I love you to the moon and back little monsters and the benefits far outweigh the risks because you deserve to have your stories told". There's a reason we call her mama monster haha

I love you monsters. I'd be unfixably broken without you

these albums are not controversial.... talking about a theme in a song is not controversial.

And Britney talking about sex was maybe controversial in 2002 but not in 2016... and ressurrection ??really???

Why do people think ARTPOP is controversial? People and the media not being here for it doesn't mean it's controversial :selena:
