That's the problem. The "backlash" some white celeb receives for doing cultural appropriation is not nearly as bad as tons of children being punished or having their future possibly ruined for being themselves and minding their own business.

That's not the artist's fault tho

I'm mostly speaking from an American perspective because I am American. However, there are different incarnations of this problem (in varying contexts) throughout the world. I don't know what your point in quoting me is or what exactly you think I said, but I certainly didn't say anything you're accusing me of saying. I wrote several long posts in this thread and if you haven't read them all it will be difficult to have a real dialogue, however if you need clarification on my point after reading everything I'm  happy to answer your questions.

tell that to the indigenous amazigh populations in North Africa and ask them if it's really white people who oppress them the most. 

My point is that you simplify and Americanize everything. The latter one is especially bad considering this is an international forum. I know you have some kind of White savior complex but maybe you should read about some international conflicts.

I already addressed what you said earlier in this discussion. You didn't read my posts. I acknowledged there are different situations and contexts throughout the world, and I acknowledged from what perspective I was speaking. If you want to speak about what's happening in North Africa that's a valid thing to talk about, but it doesn't negate my point. And white people do have power not just in America but in the world in general, although to varying degrees in different situations. I didn't insult you. I called you out for your not reading my posts after I asked you to and for not understanding what I said. I won't be intimidated. 

To suggest I know nothing of international conflicts and do not want to be educated on them is silly. This thread has largely been about appropriation in the context of pop music, and that makes white privilege an especially important point. Again, I never said people of color can't appropriate, and I never said they shouldn't be held acocuntable if they do.

I have no idea what you mean by white savior. I'm speaking about real things that are really happening and if that makes you uncomfortable it isn't my issue.

No one is saying white privilege is not real, but the way you word it and others it sounds like only white people are capable of. This totally denies experiences in other countries. Tell me what happened to Jews in the Arab world? The muslims in Myanmar etc.
