As a Gaga fan, is AHS worth watching?

Watch every season except for Hotel not even Gaga could save that season from being a complete and utter **** show. Asylum is by far the best season of the series followed by Murder House then Roanoke then Coven, Freakshow was also not that great

And this is an accomplishment? Freakshow fans have truly lost it.

And, well sir, Jessica Lange is a FOOL. That's all I have to say about that.

we may have lost it bc we have had to defend Freakshow's honor for the past 2.5 years and it is exhausting! I suppose we will just be fools with miss Jessica then

Starting out with Hotel is a bad idea, or at least it was for me. It took me watching the other seasons first to get acquainted with the atmosphere and formula of the show to really enjoy it.

And I would rank the seasons:

1. Asylum: The best hot mess I've ever watched. There's A LOT going on in this season, but it never ceases to impress me and keeps me emotionally invested. This is what American Horror Story should always be.

2. Murder House: The perfect intro to the series. I was skeptical about this show after having seen the first episode of Hotel, as I mentioned, but this season turned me around within a couple of episodes. It's very straightforward compared to Asylum, but that benefits this particularly arc immensely.1

3. Coven: Think Mean Girls meets Charmed with a little bit of gore thrown in and you'd get this. The camp is amped up here to the max and as a result it's a fun ride, but not quite as interesting as the first two seasons. The story suffers from bad pacing, unfortunately. It had a lot more potential than what came to fruition.

4. Hotel: Really, I just absolutely love Liz Taylor in this season. There are ups and downs and some interesting ideas used that weren't always executed in the best way. The storytelling sometimes reminds me of Murder House, but it's nowhere near as coherent the central characters don't leave me feeling as invested. However, Gaga as The Countess is awesome and I was really impressed with her role.

5. Freak Show: Another season that could have been a lot better. There were many story arcs that became tiring after time and some that were never that interesting to begin with and it was never really clear what the main storyline was supposed to be.  The clichés of the series really became noticeable here. There is still a lot to enjoy and there are definitely a few great characters (although the best episode is directly related to Asylum).

6. Roanoke: This season is very polarizing as it seems to usually fall at the bottom or top of people's favorites. For me, it's obviously the latter. Mostly, I don't like the false "reality TV" narrative that was used and it didn't feel like an authentic American Horror Story season. The plot twist was interesting, but also incredibly stupid at the same time. The story definitely gave the actors the ability to flex their muscles, but the plot seemed lackluster in comparison to their skills.

Overall, there's no season I would say I hate and it's definitely worth trying, Gaga or no. But if it's Gaga you want, Hotel would be your best bet. Her role is Roanoke isn't all that noteworthy.

Gaga was one of the only good things about Hotel tbh, she was so polarizing in every scene and she was the only thing that I was watching for by the end. Also her first scene is iconic :classy:

Completely. It brings many TFM memories back  and she looks fab. There's a few awkward and cringeworthy moments tho

I had such high hopes and aspirations with her as that Countess Mommy (Kids were cast and timed perfect too) tough to watch anything after that...:S

Personally, I think so, yes. But Hotel was my first try at the show, so I'm probably biased.

Hotel is the only season I've seen

And I have to say. It starts out

But instead of becoming better with each episode it becomes boring as hell.

I personally love hotel and I think people in this forum are way too hard on it or expected something different. I even know several AHS fans who say it's their favorite season and they're not even Gaga fans...

for me Roanoke is garbage. I thought I liked it when it aired but when I rewatched it was just garbage...

Yes, you should watch it. I'll put my opinions of the best to worst season below.

1: (Best) - Murder House (Season 1)

2. Asylum (Season 2)

3. Coven (Season 3)

4. Roanoke (Season 6)

5. Hotel (Season 5)

6. (Worst) Freak Show (Season 4)

Hotel, yes. She's in every episode and she's got some looks. Plus her story-arc is the best out of all of them, honestly, she's got the most going on.

Roanoke, no. The season itself is superior to Hotel, but her parts are so minimal. She's literally no where to be found after like episode 4 or 5.

I like to think that she's somewhere in the woods having sex with Matt's ghost

Lowkey the worst season

No low, HIGH* key worst and I still stand by/maintain it. The last two episodes were GOLDEN though, I will add. Meryl Streep's daughter probably was the worst actress and worstly written character over all that entire season - Gaga was saved. Who abandons their entire family (including both living husband and daughter) solely for their missing child? Their daughter was clearly ****ed up because of her parent's own insanity. Not to mention, Meryl Streep's daughter walked around in a depressed haze all season. At least with Emma Roberts (who some say only got her acting prestige due to her relatives) is better at character portrayal and depth, even if she screams similiar to Victoria Justice who literally cannot act for ****! Regardless, I wasn't terribly impressed with Gaga's acting but I don't entirely blame Gaga either though. The character of the Countess was clearly written for her (as Lady Gaga, of course) as you can see in the freedom she had visually in regards to her dress. In regards to her Golden Globe award...it was a fandom vote for a "sci-fi" section with few lead female actresses. :lolga:
