As a Gaga fan, is AHS worth watching?

I personally can't even rank/compare them. I mean, I thought Asylum and Coven were FAR superior to Coven as it was airing, partially due to the recycled plot of the girls murdering one another and then having Misty revive them despite being ALREADY endangered as is(I've noticed it's a very common subplot where the actors and actresses get so involved in their own selfish desires that they completely miss the entire issue at hand. By like the end of episode 5, all hope has been lost for anybody's survival, yet somehow they still manage.), but I quite enjoyed the finale and the direction it took. Honestly, most of the seasons have rather solid endings aside from "Freakshow" which completly fizzled after ALREADY becoming derailed after the murder of Kathy Bates' character and Twisty the Heartbreakingly Misunderstood & Loveable Clown. If I had to rank them based upon first episode, I would say:

1. Freakshow - from the twin's discovery to the ENDING, I. Was. GAGGED.

2. Coven

3. Roanoke

4. Hotel

5. Asylum

6. Murder House

On overall "scare factor":

1. Roanoke - "Piggy" Man alone scared me enough from the first season, then for them to bring him back and pop up in that woman's backseat - I still get "Insidious" flashbacks when the demon appeared behind the woman as the old woman was sharing her dream and my 13 year old self dropping off the couch and onto the floor in sheer horror.

2. Murder House

3. Hotel

4 & 5. Freakshow and Asylum really were not that scary to me.

6. Coven - don't remember being scared at all.

Over all:

1. Coven - The ending was golden, even if the plot was annoying and the same actors playing the same - I mean DIFFERENT characters ended up together.

2. Asylum - My memorable favorite.

3. Roanoke - Breathed in new blood.

4. Freakshow - All-time favorite intro. Introduction of music was nice for a taste, not for a whole album which they seemingly realized and avoided (I'm not a BIG Glee fan).

5. Murder House - A little forgettable.

6. Hotel - Nice introduction but season LACKED as a whole.

i would say just dont listen to other people's opinions on the season bcs every person has different taste just watch it and see it for urself, its worth of watching just for the gaga, she in it a lot and u will be gagged!!

the emmy (which is a far more prestigious award for television acting) snub says a lot more, imo. madonna won a golden globe for acting, and is certainly not considered a great actress.

Hotel was definitely the worst season but that wasn't because of her. It was the writing. LITERALLY NOTHING HAD CLOSURE!

AHS Hotel has Gaga as the main character meaning she's in it the most, definitely recommend it.

AHS Roanoke however didn't have a lot of Gaga unfortunately however I still enjoyed the season. If you are planning on watching AHS just for Gaga i'd suggest sticking with Hotel. Also Gaga isn't in the upcoming S7 so again your choice if you wanna watch or not.

I watch it only bc of Gaga, Sarah Paulson and Kathy Bates tbh

I don't like horror at all. But AHS Hotel is really great for any Little Monster because pretty much every single line the Countess says has a second meaning that fits Gaga herself.

At least watch the first episode. That introduction segment is the best Gaga music video in a long time. It was executed flawlessly, and is one of the highlights of the show's run.

Overall, there's so many looks. It kind of reminds me of those classic films where every appearance of the female lead is a ~moment~ with memorable fashion. This is the best styling Gaga has ever had IMO. The show used her well. You can also literally see her acting get stronger and stronger. She's so good in the final episodes.

The writing left much to be desired though. Very little substance there. I feel like the fans actually cared more about the story than the writers did. GGD and Reddit users were all trying to find meaning in what was basically a stream-of-conscious fever dream lazily made up on the fly.

Hotel made me a fan. (Still haven't seen Seasons 1-4,) but I watched Roanoke religiously. Hotel is my favorite just because it was my first season. To me, it is classic. Roanoke is much scarier tho. That said, Gaga slayed my life as The Countess.
