Dominic 11,922 Posted June 19, 2017 Share Posted June 19, 2017 I think it's harder for Westerners to recognise cultural appropriation because our culture isn't deminishing. Whereas the cultures of indigenous people are deminishing not just because it's being consumed by Western Society and put on a t-shirt but largely through lack of education on who/what they are. It's about protecting a fading culture and preserving it. Changing commercial laws won't do that though, only hinder it further. Education and awareness is key imo.
