She always wanted to be an actress and since she wasn't casted anywhere, she took the chance to change her singing career into an acting career. When she said she wanted to be an actress before a singer, she probably meant when she was really young, I mean, look how long she's been playing at bars etc. That speech at the golden globes was quite blasé, it shouldn't be taken so seriously. You have to want it all to get to legendary status. She is the definition of an entertainer to me. She is Stefani Germanotta inside but when she wants to be seen by the world she performs in the most awesomely planned out ways. So yeah she acts out her idea of what she wants to be but I don't think that's her real personality. How cool would it be to have that well I'm Lady Gaga I can do all this crazy stuff attitude.
