Poope MOnster 1,446
last night i listen to both album for the first time both album is actually good but in term of album flow halsey album is much better in my opinions (Except NOW AND NEVER make me feel little annoyed) Melodrama some track are superior and stand out ( Liability / The Louvre / Homemade Dynamite / Perfect Places ) But have 2-3 track that I dont really care about it i love the album that have good flow but not necessary to include hits song it will show that artist have good visions or not (Born This Way / Born to Die /CollXtion / Blue Neighborhood Etc...) but if i need to choose i vote halsey best female album of 2017 ..(for now) and officially become her music fan So what do you think? which album you appreciate the most? Ps.I m also try dua lipa album i love her singles but that it all about. I just skip all the way through Ps2.Witness / Pendulum / Tsunami / CTTR is good but to much filler.. River 117,447
Melodrama is a tiring album, I don't like pop music in a shape of a superior serious music. I still need to listen to Santa's Little Helper of Halsey.. So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

hoeslay 4,186
Really hard to compare these two because they're two different kinds of pops. Lorde's album is what I would consider more electronic (not to say Halsey's isn't) and dark synthpop. Both albums evoke very different feelings through very different styles of instrumentation. I think both are very excellent albums and both deserve praise but personally Halsey's album feels more like a full album to me than Lorde's and not just because of the longer tracklist. Lorde's album is near perfect especially with Sober II and the Liability reprise but Writer in the Dark and Perfect Places seem not so memorable to me. On Halsey's album Devil in Me and Angel on Fire are my least favorite tracks but they aren't quite forgettable because they have strong catchy choruses. Therefore my judgement is strictly based on which feels more memorable and durable. Both ridiculously amazing for sure, though.

I edited my comment, read it. Also just because her first album was alternative, doesn't mean all of her albums alternative. Melodrama is definitely pop
MonsterPaws 2,732
I refuse to pick one over the other. They're both fantastic alternative pop albums but in their own way. They're quite different sonically so no.
Mary Jane Wayne 1,997
An hour of Lordes farting sounds in cd format would still sound better than anything Halsey is capable of creating. I'm sorry but that's just the truth.
