Dawson 9,466
"it's for women, but my gay friends also wear it". This is kinda like showing that gays must fulfill the stereotype of being feminine... mte! She's actually kind of pissed me off with that comment. famous 467
Ugh y'all need to stop about the male/female thing. It's all gender constructs, just wear it if you like it, male or female . I have no problem with guys (gay or straight) smelling a little bit "feminine", whatever that is even...plus "female" fragrances tend to be lighter anyway so some guys prefer to wear them. Idk Edited June 13, 2012 by famous
RamaVega 1
Not the 'Gaga is stereotyping the gay community' again, please
Chad-3 1
It's also kinda giving off a big '**** you' to the straight male fans. Not really? I doubt straight guys would wear perfume by LADY GAGA even if there was a male version. That is just :toofloppy: Edited June 13, 2012 by Chad-
crisTEAne 21,059
I know right. I actually thought she would have made two versions or at least a fragrance that's unis-x and not "it's for women, but my gay friends also wear it". This is kinda like showing that gays must fulfill the stereotype of being feminine... exactly. but what the hell, i'm gonna buy - and probably wear - it. :flutter: if you hurt taylor swift, i'll hurt you back
Americano 31,061
Oh my god. WAY over-sensitive. It was a playful punch at gays, not a "THESE *******S LOVE WOMANLY PRODUCTS." Edited June 13, 2012 by Americano
NewUsername 11,344
exactly. but what the hell, i'm gonna buy - and probably wear - it. I'm gonna smell it first and THEN decide :P
SomethingMore 1,701
It's also kinda giving off a big '**** you' to the straight male fans. Ummm. I'm straight, I adore Gaga, but I wouldn't wear Lady Gaga perfeume :)
Sexxx 5,584
Maybe she was saying that it could turn into a unis-x perfume.
Monster_Pouf 0
but not all Gaga fans are gay or female... we want perfume too without smelling feminine :cryga:
Mittens 228
I know right. I actually thought she would have made two versions or at least a fragrance that's unis-x and not "it's for women, but my gay friends also wear it". This is kinda like showing that gays must fulfill the stereotype of being feminine... obviously yeah, but I'm pretty offended by how she said her gay friends wear it, giving the impression 'the gays' are all feminine and don't mind wearing ladies perfume I don't think she meant it like that. If you look at the actual tweet "My perfume was designed for women, but a lot of my gay friends wear it. @Illuminotta: @ladygaga will there be a male version for the gays?" Someone asked if there was going to be a male version for the gays. She replied that some of her gay friends wear it. She did say it awkwardly, but she was kind of was set up for that one. I don't think she would imply something like that on purpose.
