Since noone is here for Burnt Norton, let's move on to number 13

Another song which has to go early is

Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood with 6.630 Points

---My personal comment---
This is the worst cover Lana has ever recorded, in my opinion. It sounds flat and does not belong onto the album. The Other Woman had a place on Ultraviolence since it contributed to the story, and Blue Velvet on Paradise because it was used in the H&M christmas commercial. This however, is unnecessary and does not add anything to the album.

---Rater's comments---

@Sunshowers Lana loves a good Nina Simone, doesn't she? Not as good as The Other Woman, but almost. The organ(?) and violins make this.

@AJK273 This is probably one of the best songs on the album and its because it is a cover. This song should've been in the middle of the track listing because it gives air to the album. Overall this album is messy in spots and this song is what should have been the album.

@sethrb101 If I remember correctly, this is a Nina Simone cover. It's listenable, but I don't love it.

@Moebius I love that organ in the chorus one of the highlights for me

@Evan Peters bad, horrible, who let this on the album, untalented, dumb, idiotic, boring

@PennyroyalTea Giving this score (5) cos I very rarely listen to this song. The cover in itself is not that bad, but she has done so much better ones too... Maybe it's just as an answer to Swan song (she's not quitting music even though the song has hints to it depending how you interpret it) and maybe to the media backlash she got during Ultraviolence, she's been misunderstood many times in her career since the beginning. I find it unnecessary on this album.

---Scores---

Lowest:
1 - @Steve Nasty @Evan Peters

Highest:
10 -  @Peto @Sunshowers @FFXSoul91 @Creyk

Gone too soon...

I mean, it was expected because stans hate covers, no matter how good they are. Still though, a beautiful simple cover that I think deserves its place on the album and like... should've beaten Religion:madge:

See you tomorrow, hunties:hor:

The first song - if you can even call it a song, it is a spoken interlude after all - is unsurprisingly

m7xAH19.png

Burnt Norton with a total score of 5.44 points

---My personal comment---
Burnt Norton is a perfect transition from the three trap-influenced songs to a more acoustic side of the record. Since it is not a real song and does not have much replay value, it is no surprise this one has to leave first.

---Rater's comments---

@Sunshowers: I mean, she's cute. Cute words, cute rose garden. Probably the best song she could've placed before Religion.

@AJK273: This interlude sounds sick but makes no sense. Time present and time past are both perhaps present and time future like WHAT It tries way too hard to sound philosophical and it kind of fails for me. This, however, is still more forgivable than other songs on this album.

@sethrb101: Interludes can be pretty sweet, but this one doesn't do much of anything for me. It's ok at best.

@Moebius: I mostly skip it, but that's just because it's so short and not really "listenable" in the sense. But Lana's voice is so soothing in this

@Evan Peters: giving it a 4 because she's just reading :rip:

@PennyroyalTea: I would listen to Lana talk for days...

@ChavaWM: don't care for it

---Scores---

Lowest:

Highest:

10 - @joannester @Peto @Versus

Called it
