Dude, he literally yelled at them to leave his country because they're a bunch of "camel-jerkers," the fact that you can't distinguish between some random person making a stupid and passive joke (e.g., me making that "white tears" remark) and someone straight-up spewing xenophobic bullshit... like, it's kinda how I'm okay with my best friends making sarcastic gay jokes when I'm around, because they're close enough to me that I KNOW they're joking around and being silly, whereas a stranger in the streets spewing homophobic remarks is just completely different. That's basically what's happening. One is light-hearted and meant to highlight the abustiry of a situation (like saying "white tears" when a privileged Caucasian individual whines about not being able to say "n*gga"), and a person being straight-up racist (like how this man was being). There are lines that can and cannot be crossed. It's not my, or any singular individual's, duty to say where these lines are, which is why they're "blurry lines," but being straight-up xenophobic like this guy is clearly crossing such lines Its not that hard to see the big picture once you put yourself in everyone else's shoes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I think I've said how I feel about the situation. If the beginning of this interaction was evidenced I wouldn't be making these comments. Literally, for all we know these girls could have said something hateful to him to provoke this response to gain attention. I really don't think anything they could've done (which I doubt) warrants that type of reaction. This internalized hatred these people have is finally being broadcast all over the world for all to see that there is a lot to still be done regarding how we treat each other. Everyone knew it was meant as a joke, however I am aware it WAS offensive. It's hard to have sympathy for someone who called for barb wire, electric fences, and a moat of sharks for people crossing a border.
