Witness (9/10) Great song, should have gotten rid of the whistling

HHH (4/10) The begginning is the only saving grace for this song

Roulette (5/10) The instrumental felt like a pre-Gaga song for some reason

Swish Swish (5/10) Tragic lyrics and the irony, could of had a better rapper

DèJá Vu (2/10) If I can describe the song in lyrics it would be "Chinese Water Torture

Power (9/10) Pretty great song, shoulda been kept the title "Goddess", only reason it didn't get is "I am my mother's daughter" (Gaga), "At the Dinner Table" (From The Dinner Table -Harry Styles)

Mind Maze (3/10) An autotuned mess, and her lyrics feel out of place from the instrumental

Miss You More (8.5/10) A song that we can all relate to, likely one of her best ballads to date

CCTR (6/10) Rent a rapper, trys to pull a Beyonce yet fails

Tsunami (5/10) Besides comparing her love life to water, this sexxx track has much more to be desired

Bon Appétit (3/10) Weirdly whispering throughout the song, Migos then raps about food in a over all track that would be hated by Ramsay

Bigger Than Me (4/10) Same boat as CTTR, a politcal song mixed with Katy's magic which just falls flat, has a few good lyrics

Save As A Draft (9.5/10) Pretty nice track, most of us can relate to the song, I like tracks with tracks with everyday objects as parts of the song.(the typerwriter sound, telephone in Telephone) The sleeping dog line could have been different

Pendulum (9/10) The intrumental sounds familar, not sure if this is an empowerment song or a breakup song, sounds great. I like the choir in the background.

Into Me You See (9.5/10) Another great ballad track

Overall it's a messy album. The song has it's highs and lows, which most tracks leading nowhere. Lyrically, Katy is at her lowest, and production wise has it's moments. Pretty sure I've read somewhere that Dr. Luke ghostwrote and produced some tracks (which is an improvement to each trach he produced on all her albums).

Save as Draft > Bon Appetit > Chained

Best songs on the Album, all others sound very generic even for Katy... :nails:

Witness- 9/10, powerful, heavy, should've been the second single, love the whistling at the end

Hey Hey Hey- 7/10, decent but a huge step down from Witness (title track), catchy enough

Roulette- 6.5/10, THE START REMINDS ME SO MUCH OF THE I LIKE IT ROUGH INSTRUMENTAL but nothing special.

Swish Swish- 7/10, catchy chorus but otherwise basic af, Nicki's meh on it but still the best bit

Deja Vu- 6/10, pretty bland and not very daring, sounds like every other track on the album

Power- 7.5/10, "I am my mother's daughter"but better than the previous 4 tracks, with a fresher sound.. sounds a bit like a demo

Mind Maze- 6.5/10, again nothing amazing.. pretty boring but with an interesting structure

Miss You More- 9/10, probably the best track since Witness, actually pretty beautiful (the Dope of the album)

Chained To The Rhythm- 7.5/10, interesting but pretty monotonous.. fits with the rest of the basic tracks though

Tsunami- 7.5/10, again it's interesting but repetitive and the instrumental reminds me of Britney's Pretty Girls

Bon Appetit- 7.5/10, gets better when compared to some of the other bland tracks..

Bigger Than Me- 8/10, a better and more interesting version of all the other tracks that sound like they merge into one

Save As Draft- 9.5/10, IS THIS ANGEL DOWN??? I think it's safe to say I prefer the more emotional tracks.. this is beautiful af  ALSO SOUNDS LIKE THE VIDEO GAMES INSTRUMENTAL

Pendulum- 8.5/10, again, a better version of the tracks that all sound similar.. giving me 80s vibes

Into Me You See- 9/10, the final act of the Miss You More/Save As Draft/Into Me You See triology- this is again, beautiful. REMINDS ME OF THE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST TRACK BY ARI AND JOHN LEGEND

Overall rating- 8/10

Best tracks- Witness, Save As Draft, Into Me You See

Worst tracks- Roulette, Deja Vu, Mind Maze

Tbh, I don't think cringy or cheesy lyrics are actually bad in pop music. Like, how many of you guys are actually listening to each track for its deep meaning in the first place? If its an effective metaphor, its effective how I see it :ladyhaha:

I do sometimes internally "nnn" at things just because its very not clever but it doesn't make the song any worse to me

I don't mind HHH at all, she's a cute gahl, but Mind Maze is absolutely obnoxious, sorry

I thought I would absolutely love Power but those drums are so unnecessary and so annoying and it's just like...ughhhh, why Katy

Also, some songs not having a bridge like Deja Vu kinda makes me like the tracks less, but yeah...

Now that we're done with the negative stuff :poot: I wanna say that Swish Swish should have been the lead but I do see why they chose CTTR. The album is nice but far from mindblowing or perfect, and it should have probably been shorter. Katy I love you gurl, can't wait for your Joanne <3 xoxo

She's the one who called it purposeful pop. :poot:

I don't think even 1/4th of the album fits that theme, but cringe little phrases and metaphors don't make it less purposeful in theory. Purposeful =/= clever necessarily :usrs:
