Assuming that ya'll listened to Katy Perry's Witness. Review the album here with your rating and let's talk about this. :classy:

Here's my opinion on this:

Track #1 - Witness (8/10)
The perfect opening song for the album. It's like Aura but the latter is still better. The demo showed the potential of this song and the fully produced song is perfection for the album. The production was a bit messy but catchy af. That whistle at the end was a bit cringey tho..

Track #2 - Hey Hey Hey (3/10)
Mess. Thought I'd like it as I loved Witness. Super disappointed with this. Just a filler song.

Track #3 - Roulette (7/10)
Catchy. The production's a little bit overdone and the lyrics are really so..so.. but these are all easily forgivable.

Track #4 - Swish Swish (8/10)
Loved this as a single. Nicki was amazing here (except for that singing part..). Can't compare this with Bad Blood (can't choose and won't choose). Both are great but this is amazing.

Track #5 - Deja Vu (8/10)
Amazing song overall. Production's not that overdone like the other songs. CATCHY AF.

Track #6 - Power (6/10)
Production's slightly not that messy. Cringey lyrics but still catchy.

Track #7 - Mind Maze (3/10)
One of the album's worse ones. Can't finish it off without getting any cringey feelings. messy production plus that autotune.

Track #8 - Miss You More (4/10)
meh. cringey lyrics and very repetitive. (it's not for me)

Track #9 - Chained to the Rhythm (7/10)
Not the best choice for a lead single but still good. It's very purpose-ful but it's vaguely embedded in the song.

Track #10 - Tsunami (7/10)
Interesting production. A bit off putting chorus but slightly stronger verses.

Track #11 - Bon Appetit (5/10)
This one kinda grew on me. Hated it before and still do a bit at the moment. The first 2 choruses are meh but that last one was so lit.

Track #12 - Bigger than Me (6/10)
Very trendy production like Bon Appetit's. This one's probably a grower but highly forgettable.

Track #13 - Save as Draft (8/10)
Love in the 21st century. Cute but cringey title.

Track #14 - Pendulum (8/10)
Best instrumental and production. It's got that promoted "purpose-ful pop" like lyrics. One of the better ones.

Track #15 - Into Me You See (5/10)
Cute, sincere song. Not for me though.. Cringey af.

Overall, despite the cringey lyrics on most of the tracks, the album strives to deliver "purposeful pop". Some songs are weak but the strong ones make this one worth the listen. Most of the songs are easily forgettable and very similar to what Perry or other artists delivered before.

Also, GIVE ME THAT HIT THREAD THAT I'D LOVE.

I really like the production, but some of the lyrics are bad and cringe imo

Listening to it now. :awesome:

Edit: I'm honestly disappointed. The only good songs were already released and other than that only Witness is worth listening to again. :emma:

The album is pretty boring overall :( I love Deja Vu and Hey Hey Hey though.

The Lyrics is so cringe-worthy and bad.

Into Me You See is by far the best in instrumentals and lyrics in the album.

So far the album is just very average

1 - Witness - Cute but forgettable (6/10)

2 - Hey Hey Hey - Torture to listen to. First filler track and its tragic :rip: (0/10)

3 - Roulette - Verses sound like Eurythmics but again is pretty forgettable (5/10)

5 - Deja Vu - Kinda goes nowhere but better than the other songs so far (6/10)

6 - Power - Started good but went downhill right as the chorus started (4/10)

7 - Mind Maze - Has a nice clean production but is boring AF. Filler track (3/10)

8 - Miss You More - Just another pretty boring filler track but a bit better than Mind Maze and Hey (4/10)

(At track 9 when CTTR starts, the album does get better. Second half is much better than the first)

10 - Tsunami - First song I really enjoyed. Slower than I thought it would be but a cute pop song you'd expect from Katy. Best non single so far (8/10)

12 - Bigger Than Me - Like the production. Cute and catchier than then the first half (8/10)

13 - Save as Draft - Better lyrically than the other songs (6/10)

14 - Pendulum - Love it! Reminds me of Last Friday Night with a witness twist. How was this not a single? (7.5/10)

15 - Into Me You See - Pretty boring. Not the best song to close the album (5/10)

Overall the first 8 tracks are quite boring. The second half 9-15 is SO much better. The album is too long and does have quite a few fillers but overall its cool to see Katy try something new. It may be hit and miss but its a start! Standouts are Tsunami, Bigger Than Me, Pendulum

SharGaga

Just started listening to it

EDIT: Witness sounds like a watered down version of Ray Of Light.

Hey Hey Hey is giving me a migraine

Roulette chorus instrumental sounds a bit like Paper Gangster/ TF Gaga
