It's weird, I don't remember any of you all being mad when Hillary told the FBI 40 total times she "did not recall". It's almost as if this isn't about justice and completely about partisan politics. Did you know even if Trump was colluding with the Russians, it's not technically a crime, and it's not an impeachable offense. If it was, pretty much every president from at least the past 30 years would be in jail. Countries like Saudi Arabia funded huge amounts of money to both Hilary Clinton's and Barack Obama's campaign, no one even cares, because this kind of stuff happens EVERY election. So this whole Russia scandal is literally a bunch of NOTHING and it seems everyone has fallen for it head first. I'm sure about to get banned because here on Orwellian Daily, opposing opinions are not tolerated! I'll get banned for being "disrespectful" but in actuality I dared to disagree. Nothing proves you are right like silencing anyone who dissents.

Hillary has nothing to do with with this discussion, all of this is off topic.

If Trump was colluding with the Russians to undermine the election process and was involved with discussing lifting sanctions in exchange for favors, it is an impeachable offense. In fact, just the simple obstruction of justice is an impeachable offense. That's exactly what Nixon had to resign for. (Before he was thrown out of office)

Differing opinions are fine here, if I remember correctly you were here under a couple of names and that was the main problem.

Hillary also was not pampered by the chairmen, as these intelligence officials were. Did you even watch the video? These men did not allude to 'I do not recall'. They essentially confirmed discussions between Trump and Comey occurred (ie. Trump asking Comey to drop the investigation into Flynn) and are refusing to go into further detail.

We have an important midterm election a little over a year away. I think many Americans find it important to understand whether or not there was a Russian influence over our 2016 elections. Your entire post is essentially 'everyone has dirty laundry so this shouldn't matter'. You go on to claim collusion is not an impeachable offense, etc. which is not entirely true. It depends on the depth of knowledge and discussions.

I appreciate you trying to provide another viewpoint, but it remains uneven, not entirely accurate, and not entirely related to the topic of this thread.

In my opinion they are playing this strategy because they know if what Comey says is true, it automatically confirms perjury  on Comey's part, because Comey previously stated under oath when he was asked if he was pressured to close the investigation that it "never happened". So if he now has evidence of collusion , it would make his previous statement a lie, which is a very serious crime. Basically if Comey is going to take down Trump, he has to take down himself as well.

Then your understanding of it is likely similar to ours. To protect someone on the false idea that trusting that person to implicate themselves and in some misguided attempt to stonewall on for solidarity, is not the proper practice of the intelligence apparatus. This time around, when asked a question, you will notice they didn't attempt to say: "Don't take my refusal as a positive answer because of denial" and that is because they know something and are choosing not to share it.

I respect the intelligence apparatus to need to do things perhaps outside the law in defense of our contry's interest, but I shall not respect their authority to refuse the sharing of information which could be used for the same purpose, to avert disaster for the US people and their safety. If Trump does something, whether knowingly illegal or not, he should be held accountable. It is in his inexperience and pompous disregard for the sovereign power of the nation and its people, that he should think himself above all else, and it isn't right or a moral equaivlence of his office. The same goes for Comey, he shouldn't have laid down with the rats, if he wished not be bitten.

Maybe you wouldn't if you didn't come off as so greedy. Please stop acting like you know all the answers to the world. Come back when you can contribute to a debate without pointing fingers at the very people you are communicating with. It's not cute, boo. :kara:
